With attractions like Six Flags Fiesta, The River walk, and the historic Alamo site, it’s no surprise that San Antonio is the most visited city in Texas. It’s actually the 17th most visited city in the nation. Besides the better known attractions, San Antonio is also home to San Pedro Park, the 2nd oldest park in the Nation. The San Antonio zoo is listed as the 3rd largest in the United States and is home to African Lions and Komodo Dragons. Tourist activities aside, San Antonio has many unique neighborhoods that are hundreds of years old, making the charm and character of the homes something to appreciate. The Mexican cultural influence can be seen all over the city from the delicious Mexican breakfast tacos to the largest Mexican Market outside of Mexico. San Antonio is full of charm, friendly people, and feels like a small community - Its truly hard to believe San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States.

Alta Vista is a neighborhood of San Antonio, neatly tucked away between the Beacon Hill and Midtown districts, just north of the downtown area. La Fonda on Main is the oldest and in my opinion the best Tex-Mex restaurant in San Antonio. Located just a few minutes from the house. Get a seat on the beautiful shaded patio and sip a homemade margarita. My favorite dish is the fish tacos or the La Fonda special.

Literally a few blocks over you will find this wonderful and quaint restaurant that has an everchanging and seasonal menu. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:00-8:00pm. A true neighborhood gem!

Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks made to order from a food truck on San Pedro, just a few blocks from the house. Take it home or eat there at provided picnic tables. Affordable and sooo good - I have to have one any time I visit.

No frills, but super yummy hamburger just a few blocks from the house. I get the juicy hamburger and love the house made buns and hand cut fries. You can eat inside or I always like to eat out on the patio.

Just a bike ride away, this is the coolest bar in the neighborhood; my go to for a nightcap. They make wood fire pizzas that are good, but not as good as Dough Neapolitans Pizza. But its still worth a visit since its so close and the ambiance is awesome. Perfect date location.

Yummy authentic Vietnamese restaurant. What it lakes in ambiance it definitely makes up in quality. Everything on the menu is good. I like the Bahn Mi's, steamed vegetables, spring rolls and the Pho is excellent!

Nola's is a local brunch only New Orleans style restaurant that is definitely one of the best in San Antonio. The house made beignets are out of this world. I like the fried green tomatoes and omelets. Take out only right now.
