The heart of the action, including the Pipeline, is at Zicatela’s northern end. Nonsurfers beware: the waters here have a lethal undertow and are not safe for the boardless, or beginner surfers either.

At Playa Bacocho, every day at 5pm, you can be part of this amazing experience of releasing your own little turtle. The sunset is awesome.

They have some of the best breakfasts on the coast: endless egg concoctions, huge fruit dishes, pasta and bowls of rich Oaxacan chocolate. Icing on the cake is the on-site bakery with a walk-up window offering coffee and baked goods.
