Hot Springs Pools

One of Glenwood Spring's most famous attractions, this pool is open daily year-around, and is fed by natural geothermal hot mineral springs. The big pool is around 96 F and the smaller pool is around 104 F. You can get a pool-only pass, or you can use the Athletic Club entrance for use of pool, exercise equipment, sauna and steam room. The pool has lap lanes for swimming, and an awesome enormous 12 ft deep end with diving board. Seasonal attractions include the Shoshone Chutes "adventure river" and splash pad / waterfall for toddlers. One of my favorite places ever! Very family friendly.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs is located on the west side of Glenwood Springs. Open year around, it offers several small soaking pools with varying temps. It also has a larger family pool and jetted hot tub. In my opinion, this hot springs is more geared for adult soaking rather than swimming. They offer a very yummy snack bar and also adult beverages (beer, wine). This is a great bird watching spot and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon just watching the Colorado River flow by. It's also perfect for an apres-ski, star gazing night soak. Highly recommend.

Skiing

This is where the Glenwood Springs locals ski... It's a beautiful remote mountain and half the price of Aspen or Vail. A 30-45 minute drive up "4 Mile Road" outside of Glenwood Springs. They offer lessons for all ages. Very basic food amenities. I usually brown bag an apres-ski snack because the snack bar has limited hours and options. The resort offers ski-in / ski-out rooms and Glenwood Springs packages. Also a great area for back country, cross-country, snow shoeing, and snow mobiles. Fabulously gorgeous hiking trails in summer and fall.
