Sightseeing

This popular National Park features some of Queensland's most picturesque scenery. Popular with both locals and visitors, the coastline views include secluded beaches, rugged rocks and spectacular ocean views. Walkers might spot dolphins playing in the ocean at Boiling Pot and Dolphin Point, or green turtles in the surging waves below Hell's Gates. There are many walking tracks through rainforest, open bush, clifftops and beautiful sandy beaches. Noosa National Park is just a quick drive – simply continue on Eastwards through Hastings Street to the National Park carpark. Many of the tracks winding through the park start and end at Noosa Headland day-use area. There is usually plenty of parking to be found at the park day-use area (unless the waves are high and the Coasts surfers are making the best of the surf conditions).

Noosa Hill lookout is an easy drive via Viewland Drive in Noosa Heads, and boasts magical views of Laguna Bay and the Noosa River below. You can also take a 1.3km uphill walk from Hastings Street, so can enjoy a great aerobic start your day before returning for breakfast by the beach. We suggest you turn right at Locale Restaurant into Morwong Drive, towards Peppers Resort and then take the wooden steps on the left up to the lookout. These steps are slightly less strenuous than the more well used steps to the left of No 1 Hastings St resort. Also the track takes you up through a lovely winding path in a bush setting.

Driving tours - for those who can travel further afield

The Eumundi Markets are a 16 km drive, and are a personal favourite for many of our visitors to Noosa. The Markets are held every Saturday and Wednesday mornings. The Saturday market has more stalls open, although Wednesday is a less crowded experience. The market offers many locally made and artisan products and, includes foods, artworks, homewares, clothing and hats. We consider the markets to be the best that we have ever enjoyed, with the market located under huge shady fig trees and products of outstanding quality and variety. A must for Noosa visitors. The markets are extremely popular, so we suggest arriving early. If you are self-driving, we generally try to arrive around 7.30am to ensure a close carpark, and before the crowds arrive. For those without a car, the route 631 bus departs from Gympie terrace and takes approximately 34 minutes.

Modern Australian food. Great food and ambience, right on the main beach at Hastings St. A lovely location, overlooking Laguna Bay, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A buzzy vibe, always busy and is usually noisy at night. Best spaghetti marinara in Australia! Bookings are essential. Licensed

Modern Australian food. Season is also on the beachfront at Hastings Street, but being smaller allows for a more intimate atmosphere than Bistro C. Season is one of our favourite breakfast venues, but we also highly recommend the lunch and dinner menu. The waiters here are excellent and friendly. Licensed
