Josie's is our absolute favorite place to eat in Blanco. Artisan sandwiches and homemade pies utilizing locally sourced ingredients.
They just opened up their new location right on the Blanco river and there is lots of room for outdoor dining with 2 levels of patios.
Jo and Jessie are amazing chefs who left the big-city restaurants to open up something special in Joe's home town of Blanco.
They're just as amazing as the food! We feel so lucky to have such high-quality food in a tiny town.

Redbud is a Blanco favorite. Good food, nothing too fancy, but a great selection of salads, sandwiches and soups. On Friday and Saturday nights they have live music.

Our absolute favorite place for breakfast/brunch and well, lunch! Amazing pastries and sweets, all bread made in house, the most amazing beignets, cheese grits are incredible...I could go on and on. If you're going to Fredricksburg, this is a must!

When you walk into Vaudeville, you definitely feel like you've stepped out of Texas and into a major city. The main floor is a boutique with lots of high-end goods. Downstairs is an incredible restaurant that rivals those of LA and New York. Small menu with daily specials, but everything is amazing. Famous for the fried chicken on Sundays. As a cajun, I can say this is the best gumbo I've had (dare I say even better than my grandfathers?). Lumb crab curry is incredible. I'm a vegetarian and love the vegetarian bowl. Everything is great. Another must-try/must-see!
They also have a supper club in the evenings, but we haven't been yet.

Fredericksburg is an idyllic German town in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. It's known for the many wineries, breweries, great restaurants and vintage shops. A definite must-visit and it's a beautiful and scenic 30 minute drive from Surya Retreat.

Luckenbach is one of the most famous destinations in the Texas Hill Country and a must-see/must-visit. It's by far the most famous music venue in the state made famous by the Waylan Jennings song, "Luckenbach, TX."
You'll just have to trust me and go see it for yourself. There are always great musicians playing and it's even worth it to just have a walk around and the see the place.
