We used to live here so know it well. Gorgeous tranquil beach which is a favourite for fishing and kite surfing. Shingle stretches for miles. You need to be careful of currents but you can swim here. Dogs are allowed all year round. No fires or bbqs on the beach because it is covered in vegetation that is protected. This is the closest beach to our house.

You need to be careful of currents but you can swim here. Dogs are allowed all year round. No fires or bbqs on the beach because it is covered in vegetation that is protected. This is the closest beach to our house.
By far and away the BEST place for crabbing. You can buy nets and crabbing lines there - just take some raw bacon for bait! Soooo much fun!
And there are sand dunes and the sea when you get bored of crabs!

Historic burial ground of a Saxon king. Great piece of local history and only a 10 min drive from us. Includes a fabulous walk and a mini museum. All the treasure found in the dig is held at the British museum but there is still plenty to do and see at the site where the 90ft Saxon ship was unearthed.

This is so much fun for kids! You can climb to the top of the castle and walk round the whole parapet overlooking Framingham. Ed SheerN wrote his Castle on the Hill about this famous location!
