Been living there for 15 yrs. Great place. You will find great restaurants, great whale watching company´s . A good local museum w. for instance a stuffed polar bear. Good swimming pool. Great view. Hot dog stand at the harbour in summertime. The church is famous for it´s beauty. Go to the whale museum for info. :)

The most majestic waterfall of Iceland. One with the most water in Europe. Just go, the road on the west bank is better, paved down to the waterfall, going east from Myvatn alongside highway 1. The eastern bank road is terrible, but the view I find is better from the east. Anyway, access is better from west. Just take care on the bank, please.

The most majestic waterfall of Iceland. One with the most water in Europe. Just go, the road on the west bank is better, paved down to the waterfall, going east from Myvatn alongside highway 1. The eastern bank road is terrible, but the view I find is better from the east. Anyway, access is better from west. Just take care on the bank, please.
Attraction, just east of Namaskard by Lake Myvatn. Hot bubbling mud pools. Smell of rotten eggs :) Worth the visit.

An incredible place. Rock, lava formations troll like. Just go and experience. Sometimes crowded in the summertime.

Great hotel. Standing at the edge of Lake Myvatn. Pseudo craters just to the north of the hotel. Hiking path. Just little bit north of hotel is a smoking hut, with local smoked trout. Absolutely wonderful to eat on rye bread or bread in general. Must stop. In summertime sometimes occupied with black flies. Take with you a fly net over your head.

Great company. Go to www.fjallasyn.is. there you will find all kinds of trip itinerary´s. Highland trips in the summer, buses or tailor made trips to the local attractions. Just visit the site and see. I myself have been driving for them in the summer to the highlands. Great trips, would like to take you there myself :) They have reception at Husavik airport and also a office short distance from there.

Just go. No words can describe this valley/ canyon made from one hoof step of Odins horse, Sleipnir, if you are into nordic sagas :)

Local swimming pool, a short walking distance from our apartment. Locked cabinets. Good security. Great hot pots. Steam bath. Swimming pool and play (children) pools. Water slides and splash areas. Sun beds in summer time. Great environment. Icelanders are strict about washing without swimsuit before entering pool. Enjoy.
