The Old Sturbridge Village is a colonial village depicting life back in the 18th century. This is the perfect place for history lovers or for a leisurely stroll. Food is available inside the village at a couple different locations. It is best to plan for a full day.
The Village is about 15 minutes away on Route 20 in Sturbridge.

BT's Smokehouse offers some of the best southern style bbq anywhere! Lunch, dinner or late night snack, the ribs, fried chicken and brisket are to die for! They open at 11:00 am and lines usually start when they open, however it's worth the wait!
BT's is BYOB, so visit Yankee Spirits Liquor Store right next door to grab a couple brews to enjoy with your bbq!

A great way to spend a couple of hours on a summer Sunday morning. Local produce, baked goods, crafts, and food. The Market starts in mid May and runs into early fall.
On the town common in Sturbridge from 9am to 1pm.
Before you go the the Farmers Market, grab a coffee and a muffin at the historic "Publick House" Country Inn across the street from the town common!

Holland Aqua Rider Water Ski Shows
The Holland Aqua Riders are a local water ski club that host's ski shows every Friday evening through the summer! Located 5 minutes from our cottage on Mashapaug Road, right across from Holland's "Maine Attraction", a small seafood restaurant serving burgers, clam fritters, lobster rolls, french fries and much more!

The Brimfield Antiques Show
3 weeks each summer, the Antiques Show comes to Brimfield! Only a short 15 minute ride from our cottage will bring you to the heart of the show. Whether you are a collector, looking for a different piece of furniture or some antique fishing lures, this is the place! The 2020 show date are May 12-17, July 14-19 and September 8-13. Dress according to weather conditions. You will be walking outdoors for hours!!

Cinemagic Cinema is a 20 minute ride from our cottage at the Center at Hobbs Brook on Route 20 in Sturbridge! At the plaza, you'll also find a Walmart, Stop and Shop, Applebees , Pizzarino Uno , Staples, Marshalls and a Verizon store!

To stock up the refrigerator, Micknucks Fresh Marketplace on Route 20 in Sturbridge is a short 10 minute drive from the cottage! You will also find a Shaws Supermarket on Rt 131 and Stop and Shop in the Center at Hobbs Brook , both in Sturbridge.

Walking trails and canoe trail!
Sturbridge has a great trail system for walking! Called "Trek Sturbridge" http://www.sturbridgetrails.org/, you can walk sections of the "Grand Trunk Railroad", Heinz Farm, and other marked trails. You can find more information at this website.
If you like backwater canoeing or kayaking, the Quinebaug River Canoe Trail starts at the East Brimfield Reservoir on Rt 20 in Brimfield and ends at Holland Pond. This leisurely paddle will take you past beaver huts, through narrow winding turns and possibly deer and other wildlife!
