THE NATIONAL MUSEUM (Tjóðsavnið) Among the cultural treasures in the exhibition, you will find the original Faroese rowing boat, the legendary 15th century ’Kirkjubøur’ benches, a variety of national costumes and interesting findings from the Viking era. You can also experience a journey through the natural & geological history of the Faroe Islands with its mammal & bird life and the volcanic geological origin of the islands.

Faroe Islands is not a member of the European Union (EU) and you can therefore shop tax free here. There are many shops in Torshavn of which I recommend following ones for locally made handcraft

There are a many good restaurants, cafes and bars in the in Torshavn ca. 1,5 ‐2 km from the apartment. In relation to this, my recommendations are as follows:
Faroese Tapas Restaurant, which I strongly recommend. Excellent restaurant, historic building and location.
