If you're visiting north west France you can't go wrong with a visit to the site of the DD landings and this is one of the museums in the area. From here it's a short drive to the American Cemetery which is well worth a visit. An educational, yet somber day out.

The Castle of Lassay was built in the 15th century. It's architecture is still completely intact and is a must see place. You can also tour the inside and see how the rooms would have been furnished when the castle was inhabited. The picturesque medieval city of Sainte-Suzanne is a great place to go for lovers of history. Plenty of things to do and you can even take a walk along the castle ramparts. Maps of the town are available from the local tourist office and you can hire an audio-guide from the museum inside the chateau.
