A log cabin style restaurant has a great “Alaska” feel to it with “Cheap Beer, Lousy Food.” They do have cheap beer (1-2), but their food is not lousy. I love the salmon and halibut sandwiches. The fish dinners are pretty amazing too. This is also a locally ran and operated business.

Alaska Sealife Center - Rehabilitation and Rescue Center

This is a great rainy day activity, while viewing underwater Sea Life at the Alaska Sealife Center. And learning how they go about rescuing and rehabilitating with the hopes to release them back into the wild. This is NOT an aquarium, but a rescue, rehabilitating, and research center.

Museum

Do you want to learn more about old town Seward and old time Alaska, then head on over to the museum to view artifacts from the past. There’s also a movie that you can watch on the 1964 earthquake that devastated Alaska. This is also another great rainy day activity.

Hiking in Seward

This is a great area to investigate and get up close to a Piedmont glacier. It’s a short walk to view it up close. The last half of the trail is slightly uphill, but well worth the views. I also enjoy the information panels along the trail and in the ranger station. A must see.

This trail head is walking distance from the house. This is the infamous trail that is ran by elite athletes on the Fourth of July. This mountain is just over 3000 feet, straight up. Once at the top you will have magnificent views of Resurrection Bay and the rugged mountain tops. This mountain is extremely steep and not for beginners. Please use caution.

This trail is walking distance from the house. It is a very simple, easy trail around two lakes that has beautiful waterfalls and is full of Pine trees and Birch trees throughout the forest. This trail is truly for anyone, young or old!

Walk the bike path in front of the house to find sea otters, stellar sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, and whales. For easy access from your suite, take the walkway from the carport, next to the oil tank to get to the Bike Path. It's the best walk morning or night. I do it almost daily!

This hike starts at Exit Glacier. This is one of my favorite hikes. This is about 8 miles from town, headed north. The beginning and middles are the hardest. Its like stair stepping rock on your way up. I like to stop at Marmot Meadows and The Cliffs. They have the best fews of the glacier and a great stop to picnic. Continue on the trail to get on the ice field.

Another favorite hike of mine. The front of the house faces towards Mt. Alice and the nightly rental was named after this mountain. It is steep and uphill all of the way. When you get to the top you have wonderful views of Resurrection Bay and the islands that are in the gulf of Alaska.

Playground

This is a BEST playground that is walking distance from your suite, two blocks away. Take the bike path along the bay to get there or head straight down on Ballaine Blvd. It was built by the citizens of Seward that kids love to play at. The playground is split into two areas dependent on the age of the child. It's super fun for all age groups. There are bathrooms nearby and a skate park right next to it. Enjoy! One of my favorite!
