Known for the powdered white sand beaches everywhere this beach is a fun diversion. Not for the faint of heart as it requires a bit of walking through some dunes before you arrive at yet another breath taking experience in Vieques albeit a bit darker than anywhere else. Go for it!

This is a terrific beach that most of the time has extremely calm waters. Perfect to stand in while socializing or great snorkeling and very close to Esperanza where you can take a break for the fish taco happy hour!

This is my all time favorite restaurant and not just because the helm is commanded by a woman chef!. Mahi bites and salads for lunch that are spectacular. Excellent dinners with oceanside dining. And who can ever thank them enough for the 100's of meals they provided for free during the aftermath of the hurricanes in 2017! If the namesake drink is available definitely order a Bili

Happy hour drink specials that are fabulous like a watermelon margarita-and not watered down. Fish tacos or any of their tacos are great and if you are lucky to arrive on the day they have oysters on the half shell from New England you know you have scored.

This is the best place to get an authentic Pina colada. Made from freshly ground coconuts and topped off the way it has historically been done or for those not imbibing two fresh coconuts for $10 along with the show of Chasti preparing them for you is well worth it and thirst quenching while swimming at Sun Bay. Also the best empanadas known as pastilles, on island I have found so far after years of trying many. And the views of the ocean, the horses, and of course the chickens is priceless

New owners are super friendly and they serve up great bowls of goodness, pancakes or fresh fruit smoothies as well as coffee in a lovely outdoor cafe setting. They are offering live music every few weeks or so and performances are sold out in advance so check in with them soon to reserve your tickets. Nice to have live music on the quieter side of Vieques.

Tired of local beers there are bottle varieties to drink in or take out. Many lovely deli style choices, meats and cheeses too. Always a good place to shop and eat. And say hi to Christina for me

Ferry versus flying. Only Flying in 2021!
Personally I would always recommend flying over taking the ferry. After all, you do want to maximize your beach time right? But if you want to wait and wait and then possibly get bumped and wait some more take the ferry

Things to do ahead of your arrival
If you plan on renting a Jeep definitely make your reservation ahead of your arrival. Vieques is a small island and during busy times often ALL of the cars/Jeeps completely rented.
Scooters and golf carts are popular rentals too.
Bio Bay reservations should be made ahead of your arrival. Check the moon calendar as you don't want to go during a full moon.
Horse back riding is best scheduled ahead of time
Book your sailing excursion and decide if you just want to sail around Vieques or take an overnight trip to Culebra!

Couples massage may be arranged but her talents are sought after so book ahead. I always get a massage from Ingrid and love every minute.
