Recently renovated, this coffee shop is only a 4 minute drive and has the most delicious coffee! Located in an old auto-repair shop, Communion hosts a coffee shop, restaurant, barber shop as well as a by membership coworking space. Great for brunch, dinner or afternoon coffee, happy hour....I personally love to hang out on their patio with an oat milk latte and a book, or for a beer at happy hour. They often host special dinners and markets in their coworking space, check out their IG for events!
TIP: Check out their seasonal latte -- all syrups are made in house. And their brownie is pretty great too. Also they sell TacoDeli breakfast tacos but go early bc they sell out quick!

Yummy burger place offering a great traditional burger as well as the unconventional (Chicken Fried Burger!). They have a selection of protein choices -- beef, turkey, black bean burger and chicken, any of which can be subbed out on a burger or added to a salad. Check out their Haymaker - frozen whiskey cocktail that packs a punch in small package. They also have a great rotating beer selection with lots of local offerings!
TIP: If you like burgers on the smaller side (less meat), order the Kid’s burger. They’ll allow you to make it a custom burger for a small fee -- ex. Kids size Avocado Ranch Burger. It comes with fries and a drink too -- cheaper than ordering the full size and is quite filling!

Lockwood Distilling Company is a new addition to Richardson, opened in 2019. They make tasty liquors -- Hibiscus Vodka is a big favorite! You can have a nice dinner here with cocktails and also purchase a bottle or 2 to take home. They also have a patio!

I seem to live here. Especially for lunch. Their fish is super fresh and straight from Japan. The sushi chefs know what they are doing! Lunch is my favorite time to go because they offer bento boxes at a great price.

Cute seaside themed seating area inside and small patio seating. Tucked away in a random strip mall off Coit Rd. In addition to fish and chips they also have other British cuisine favs like bangers and mash, minted peas and sticky toffee pudding!
TIP: My British friend agrees this place is LEGIT!!

If I eat in I'll get an order of 34 Spring Rolls, 35 Egg Rolls or a 49 Bahn Mi with grilled pork for the table to share. To drink you can't go wrong with a Thai Tea or French Coffee! Fair warning, this is a very tough place for vegetarians. You may be able to order something a la carte but it would be difficult to find something without meat (all broths are meat) or fish (hidden in most sauces).

Austin based Taco joint --- known for their crazy tacos of the month - check their site or social media. This is actually of my favorite places for brunch -- great deals on Mimosas, Bloody Marys and Tequila Sunrises. Breakfast tacos served all day! And of course, margaritas too :).
TIP: They're known for their Fried Avocado taco but that's not for me. I usually get the Baja Shrimp, Brushfire (who knew jamaican jerk chicken would be so good on a taco!) or one of their breakfast tacos.
PRO TIP: Avoid the long ordering line and sit at the bar instead. You'll get full service and pretty instantly + beverage refills when you need them :)

TIP: I go there mainly to enjoy the patio -- margarita or beerita in hand with a taco or 2. The Seasoned Ground Beef and Shrimp, egg and cheese are my favorites.
This place is YUM!! Owned by firefighters, they have interesting seasonal flavors with vegan and dairy free options. There have a drive through, small inside seating area with swings (!!) and a small outdoor space with tables.
TIP: Carmel Crack is SUPER INTERESTING - toffee coated saltines! Their flavors rotate regularly but the Chocolate Pecan Caramel has been my favorite so far! Their servings are also pretty HUGE.

They are a dine in theater with custom cocktails, lots of beers on tap and tasty food AND assigned seats. Talking / texting is strictly prohibited and strongly enforced -- no one will ruin your movie experience. Arrive early, 15-30 minutes to enjoy the customized pre-show before your movie. The servers will take your orders and let you taste beers if you are unsure what to order. You can also order during the movie with their paper/pencil ordering system. In addition to new release movies, they also host special movie events based on the theme that month, some with fun props, Q&A sessions, sing-a-longs or quote-a-longs -- so much more than just a movie theater!
TIP: There’s a retro photo booth and Ms. Pacman in the lobby :)

There is a short hiking trail here called Huck Finn Trail. It is unpaved and quite serene for being in the middle of a neighborhood. There are some nice views of the waterfall on your walk. A great little escape! The trail is under 1 mile.

TIP: If you go in the Spring / Summer -- you have a chance to see beautiful wildflowers! A whole field is reserved for flower growth and is a fun site to see and take a few photos.

Casual taco transplant from Austin. I must admit I've only been here for breakfast but I hear that they have great options all day long. Great Gluten Free and Vegetarian options. Indoor and outdoor seating.
PRO TIP: The Otto - on a wheat tortilla, add pico di gallo plus get some of the creamy jalapeno salsa on the side. You will want 2 of these. Only served at breakfast or brunch!

11617 N US 75-Central Expy 1000Local chain, this was the original location! The only place I know to get great Thai food AND great Sushi! Excellent for a date night. Mainly indoor seating with a few small tables outside.

Cozy interior dining area and patio seating outside. Creative and consistent!!

Excellent higher-end Mexican dining experience from this local chain. They have many locations in the area -- the original one is downtown near the Perot Museum (walkable actually!). Great margaritas and entrees -- Carne Asada, Pollo con Mole and the soups are highly recommended. They have a large patio and a brunch menu. Great place for afternoon drinks and guacamole!
TIP: AVOCADO MARGARITAS. You won't regret it.

La Ventana is locally owned and has a few locations in the area. This one is Addison is the closest one to us -- maybe a 20 minute drive but worth it! Their other locations are in great areas in Dallas and worth the excursion as well!

3 Nations is such a great brewery, located in cute Downtown Carrollton, it is about a 20 minute drive from us. They have an ENORMOUS outdoor seating area, a wide variety of beers and super friendly staff. Check out their social media for live music events and what's on the food menu.
TIP: Royal Blood, their blood orange Wit, is a solid go-to drink for me. Try their seasonal sours and stouts as well. I recently tried their limited Cherry Pie Gose and Marzipan Golden Stout -- both super tasty!
