The University of Arkansas is the flagship university in the state. Old Main (the oldest building on campus) is located on Old Main Lawn which exclusively features trees indigenous to the state of Arkansas. Surrounding and throughout campus, the names of every graduate of the University of Arkansas have been etched into sidewalks in a tradition known as Senior Walk. The west side of campus features Athletics Valley which is home to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium (football), John McDonnell Field (track and field), and Bud Walton Arena (basketball).

Mount Sequoyah is located on the east side of Fayetteville and offers visitors incredible views of the city and surrounding hills. Sunsets are particularly beautiful from this vantage point high above the surrounding city.

The Fayetteville Farmer's Market and Historic Square are a must for first-time visitors to Fayetteville. On Saturdays during the outdoor market season, the entire square is filled with local vendors selling everything from fresh produce and meats to flowers. Several local food trucks also setup offering a variety of food options in addition to the shops and restaurants permanently located at the square.
