Shopping

Good place to spend an hour or two by the lake. There are outlet shops such as Coach, Jockey and Pendleton, as well as a cool indie toy store, plenty of places to eat (I like the Tap Room for its view), and lots of little gift places.

This fun and funky little mountain hamlet has antiques, gift stores, cafés and more. We love bringing guests here for some local shopping.

Layers! Walking shoes!

Mountain temps are cold at night and early morning and hot in the spring and summer months. Pack layers and walking shoes! And check the weather, you may need snow gear and boots.

Fun ideas for kids

For kids’ activities, there’s a playground in Lake Arrowhead Village, on the far end, as well as a small amusement park with funny mirrors, bumper cars, etc. Winter hours are sporadic so check first if you have your heart set on going. The Lake Arrowhead Library in Blue Jay (one mile away) has lots of kids' activities, a wonderful children's' room, and a GREAT bookstore with books from 25 cents to $2. You don't have to be a resident to use the library and to shop at the bookstore. It's open to all. Heaps Peak Arboretum is my favorite thing to do with kids; you'll need the $5 Adventure Pass.
