Beach
Garden City Park leads to Garden City Beach and is the closest public beach (with restroom & parking) to the beach house.
On the far end of the park, there is a boardwalk that leads down to the beach. There is parking there so you don’t have as far to walk to the beach. Along the boardwalk are a few interpretive signs about wetlands.
After following the boardwalk, you will come out into the open and see the beach. There are bathrooms, as well as a rental shack for paddle boards and kayaks. It is still quite a walk down to the beach. If you have a lot of supplies you might want a wagon or stroller which will easily move across the sand.
The other great thing about the lake is that the beach is very shallowly sloped. This means that the water doesn’t get deep fast. This makes it awesome for kids. It also means that the water is much warmer than it would be if it were deeper. This is true for almost all the beaches at Beat Lake and for the beach directly in front of the Beach House. In short, the beach at Bear Lake is incredible!

There are many options for shakes and food in Garden City. You really can’t go wrong, however our favorite is Zipz! The food is better than all the others and they tout the “least famous shakes” (in reply to La Beaus “famous raspberry shakes”) and they are delicious! We did a raspberry shake taste test and Zipz totally won. The flavor was perfect.
They have nice shaded outdoor seating, and a drive-through! The corn dog is a must as well and they offer a bunch of unique sauces for dipping fries. Try the honey with the corn dog.

Great little spot for kids to fish. Well stocked and easy to fish. Also a playground at this park. Lots of fun!

This is a short drive from the home and a easy hike that almost everyone can do! It’s a loop and is 1.5 miles long. The highlights of the trail are the old Limber Pine tree and beautiful views!

This is a beautiful hike in Logan Canyon. It is moderate to hard with a steep hike up and down at the beginning and end of the hike. The views are definitely worth the effort of the incline up. This hike is one of our favorite memories of Logan Canyon and we definitely recommend it.

Playing in the beautiful lake!
The waters of Bear Lake are beautiful and often called the “Caribbean of the Rockies”. It’s true!!! Bring your boat or rent a boat or jet skies and get some time in the water. It’s so beautiful!! The house is right on the lake and perfect for heading out to the beach to play in the sand or water.

Bike path!
Bring bikes or rent bikes and enjoy the great bike and walking path that goes around Garden City. You can even rent surrey bikes for a larger group. Lots of fun!
