Easy or longer hikes

The Joffre Lakes trailhead offers a short easy hike to the lowest of its three lakes which immediately rewards everyone with a view of glaciers in the background above the lake's iconic turquoise (rock flour) translucent water right in the foreground. The trail also continues up to link into two other lakes and a waterfall for visitors who have more time and a tolerance for uphill hiking.

Food scene

If we were to recommend only one place for food in Pemberton, The Pony probably takes our vote for its wide selection of great drinks and its ever-changing yet always-good menu.

For what Mile One lacks in variety with their small menu, they make up for in quality (and portion size in the case of their pasta dishes). Their window and patio seats also have a nice view of Mt. Currie.

Town Square is the new restaurant in town and they bring with them Friday night entertainment, small plates, sandwiches, starches/salads, full dinner plates, and more - of note, they have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. We're still partial to The Pony, but Town Square offers the town some nice new variety.

Longer hikes or scrambles

If you like big hikes and dislike crowds, skip Joffre Lakes and consider hiking to Mt. Rohr. You still get alpine lakes, but you also gain some scrambling and a distinctly (and rightfully) backcountry feel.

Sightseeing

Agro-tourism farm, café, bakery, local produce grocer, October pumpkin patch wagon rides, Spring outdoor BBQs... it's simple fun for the whole family, honestly. Perhaps it's too "high brow" for the local hardcore farm crowd, but whatever, it's clean fun and your money is probably better spent here than at Disneyland or at an overpriced hokey city walking tour.
