The Joffre Lakes trailhead offers a short easy hike to the lowest of its three lakes which immediately rewards everyone with a view of glaciers in the background above the lake's iconic turquoise (rock flour) translucent water right in the foreground. The trail also continues up to link into two other lakes and a waterfall for visitors who have more time and a tolerance for uphill hiking.

Just east in Mt. Currie, Barn Nork offers great Thai cuisine that warrants calling ahead to reserve a table as it can be quite busy on weekends.

Longer hikes or scrambles
If you like big hikes and dislike crowds, skip Joffre Lakes and consider hiking to Mt. Rohr. You still get alpine lakes, but you also gain some scrambling and a distinctly (and rightfully) backcountry feel.

Ensure you are comfortable with the 1000m of elevation gain to reach the hut and lake before embarking.

Perhaps it's too "high brow" for the local hardcore farm crowd, but whatever, it's clean fun and your money is probably better spent here than at Disneyland or at an overpriced hokey city walking tour.
