If you have to wait, they have a lounge upstairs where you can grab a drink while you wait. We recommend ordering the Poulet Cordon Bleu Bouchon which is a breaded chicken breast rolled around prosciutto & Gruyère cheese, baked, then finished with a lemon juice, white wine & butter pan reduction. We also recommend the Steak Frites Bouchon which is pan-fried beef shoulder tenderloin steak finished with fresh garlic butter. They are served with pommes frites which we suggest asking them to bring out first separately so you can enjoy them while they're hot!

Just down the street, visit this basilica of the Roman Catholic Church which was designed and built in 1905 by Spanish architect Rafael Guastavino who also worked on the Biltmore Estate. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and it is the only basilica in western North Carolina. Its dome has a span of 58 by 82 feet and is reputed to be the largest, freestanding, elliptical dome in North America. Take note of the ceiling tiles that are his trademark and can also be found in the pool room of the Biltmore Estate.

Take a step back in time and enjoy playing all the pinball your heart desires on all types of pinball machines. It's a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
Once you pay the admission (about $15), you can play over 80 pinball and classic video games without any quarters or tokens.
They have a waiting list to get in and do not take reservations, so go early and get your name on the list.

Hiking
Here are our top hiking spots!
Great waterfall hike. The lower falls is an easy hike, but you can continue on to the upper falls for one of our favorite waterfall views. If going to the upper falls, it might be a good idea to tag along with other hikers who have been before. There is one turn that is easy to miss and not well-marked. I would not recommend this hike on a rainy day. The upper falls has a couple of strenuous spots where you will be using ropes to get up rocky areas. Wear durable hiking shoes.

We recommend this pretty easy hike on a hot day. You will drive up to the mountain to cooler elevation and may even need a jacket on a warm day up there. There is a parking lot and picnic area with a trail off to the side to begin your hike. Great place to bring a picnic as well.

This is a favorite mountaintop hike. Mount Pisgah is the mountain you can see with the cell phone tower if you look west. Once you get to the top, you can have long-range mountain views on clear days. I recommend going early as there can be bugs at the top.
