You can’t miss this on the main crossroads in Woolacombe by the pitch and putt. The best place for coffee and ice cream.

Take a nice 20 minute walk up the hill to Mortehoe and then stop here for a pint and a bite. The Sunday roasts are great, good idea to get in early (opens at 12).

Summer only, the beach cafe on Barricane Beach does sunset curries in the evenings. These are really good and you can take you own bottle. There are only a few picnic tables so take a mat in case you have to eat on the beach or the rocks.

A great new addition to the dining scene in Illfracombe this excellent (but small!) restaurant has been set up by Thomas Carr, Head Chef at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw when it was awarded its second Michelin star. Reservations are essential.
