Recommended Local Restaurants

This has to be our Lahinch favourite; a family run seafood and steak restaurant. They pride themselves in sourcing the best local seafood and steaks and serve vegetables fresh from the garden. Situated right on the coastline against the backdrop of Liscannor Bay, the restaurant combines stunning views with a homely atmosphere and an old-style, Irish cottage charm. We are big fans of their surprise menu, it’s always a treat! Open on a seasonal basis, booking recommended.

This family run restaurant is a great seafood dining spot, suitable for lunch or dinner - serving everything from caviar and oysters to turbot and king crab. A little bit on the pricy side, but generally decent sized portions and people tend to rave about it.

One of our favourite restaurants, over-looking the famous cascades in Ennistymon. Family owned & operated with stunning views, specialising in reasonably priced seafood. Great for lunch (which you can have on their lovely terrace if the weather is pleasing) or a delicious casual dinner, most especially on a Saturday night when they serenade you with live music on a Spanish guitar. We particularly recommend the fish and chips!

Food scene

Attention: Cheese-lovers! This cafe & deli provides cheese from the local, but internationally famous St Tola - one of the finest artisan cheeses in the world. They also do a range of top quality natural food; olives and sundried tomatoes, organic sourdough, cheese boards, vegan plates served alongside locally (kilfenora!) roasted coffee. Highly recommended are their delicious toasted cheese sandwiches, and a particular mention needs to go to their chocolate croissants which are baked locally and are some of the best we’ve ever tasted. Great place to stop for coffee or an easy quick lunch. Impromptu music sessions are always a possibility!

Great Brunch/Lunch Spots

Unassuming Middle-Eastern inspired brunch spot with focus is on quality fresh ingredients and coffee.  Definitely the best coffee you will find in Lahinch. Dodi’s blueberry pancakes are absolutely delicious and the shakshuka is a definite must. There is often a little wait for a seat but it’s most definitely worth it.

This excellent little crêperie brings a little bit of France’s Brittany to Co Clare. Providing a great selection of savoury and sweet crepes, it’s good for breakfast, brunch and lunch! Their range of savoury galettes - suitable for people who are gluten-intolerant - with choices including goat’s cheese and honey, Clonakilty black pudding with apple compôte or Burren smoked salmon with leeks and crème frâiche can be washed down with a traditional cider if you are feeling particularly Gallic.

Self-taught baker Hugo supplies the delicious organic sourdough that you will find in Little Fox and The Cheese Press among other restaurants in the locality. This is his base, a tiny bakery-cum café, where this brilliant young baker is turning out dark and crusty natural sourdough loaves, warm sausage rolls, focaccia and warm Portuguese custard tarts to die for.  Sandwiches are reasonably priced and with simple, local yummy fillings. Great for a quick-stop lunch.
