Martha on the Fly is a newer "micro-diner" just around the corner from the apartment. The breakfast sandwiches are legendary where everything is made from scratch. Best to order ahead on their website, and seating is limited. Best to plan on getting take-out to enjoy back in the apartment or outside in one of the neighborhoods' public spaces.

Over 50 some sandwich options to choose from and you can specify what kind of bread or wrap. Larger portions won't leave you hungry. It isn't too far from Fat Cats, and I enjoy calling ahead for pickup or dine-in. It is usually ready by the time I walk over.

Cleveland's Best Things to Do

Cleveland has many neighborhoods with things to see and do throughout the city. Not only is Tremont considered one of the most desirable neighborhoods, it is most centrally located to explore other great neighborhoods on the West or East side, Downtown or University Circle.
This beautiful old world style market hall has been serving the community since 1912. Family-owned vendors specialize in specific categories like meat, dairy, produce, bakery, pastry, prepared foods. Some stands have been operated by same families for generations. The beaux arts architecture with its signature clock tower was inspired by central city European train stations. Its a great place to grab a snack and photo from inside on the second level balcony or outside in Market Square Park. This is the unmistakable anchor of the W.25th Street / Market Square area of Ohio City near Great Lakes Brewing Company and many other bars, restaurants and cafes. Insider Tips: Although most vendors are happy to accept credit cards and offer bags, locals know to bring cash and shopping totes. The market is closed Tuesday and Thursday. Other days of the week the market closes at 5 PM, but many vendors will close up starting at 4 PM. Best to visit Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday before 4 PM.

The lower levels of Terminal Tower are the central rapid transit hub with direct rail access to Airport, University Circle, Ohio City, Shaker Square, Little Italy. The elegant Lobby Court Bar overlooks the square and sometimes has a piano player. Try your luck at Jack's Casino in an old art deco department store, or check out the architecture of the Old Arcade and downtown Cleveland Public Library.

Driving and Parking

Tremont has no parking meters or time restrictions on neighborhood streets. Parking meters are common Downtown and along commercial avenues throughout the city. Always look for signs with posted restrictions. Some do not allow any parking during certain hours (during rush hours), or downtown during special events. Outside posted time restrictions, or on weekends (Saturday/Sunday), you never have to feed the meter.

Ride Share

UBER and Lyft serve the Cleveland region for ride share with fares to downtown from Tremont costing around $10 depending on the destination. Surcharges may occur during major special events downtown.

Bike & Scooters

HOPR bikes and BIRD, LIME and Spin scooters are found throughout the neighborhood by downloading the respective app to locate and unlock. We also recommend trying the scooters on the off-road portions of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail through Tremont, and the Lakefront Bikeway Trail through Detroit Shoreway and Edgewater Park. Keep in mind these are not permitted on traditional city sidewalks. Alternatively, Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op provides daily bike rentals from their shop on Columbus Rd in the Flats. Make a reservation in advance.

The 25 bus (Westgate) heads South into Steelyard Commons. There are stops just around the corner from Fat Cats. The Rapid Red Line station is less than a mile away with connections to the Airport, Ohio City, Downtown, University Circle/ Little Italy.
