Where else can you drive onto a 6000+ foot mountain??? Unreal. Not for the faint of heart behind the wheel. An utterly memorable trip to the top of the most iconic mountain on the Appalachian Trail.

Um, well, you can take a train up the iconic mountain too. It's pretty outstanding. Try to go on a rare day when the top of Mount Washington is clear. It's a bummer to get all the way up there only to be in a cloud.

Getting Around
You shouldn't need a car rental from here unless your car breaks down. But that has happened to us more times than we care to admit. We LOVE this little Hertz rental shop around the corner from us. They have been clutch for us at least a dozen times over the years.

Possibly our all-time favorite hike in the area. Easy-moderate hike. Takes 1-1.5 hours to get up. STUNNING views for the level of difficulty.

One of our top-three hikes in the Whites. Easy-moderate 3 mile each way hike to the Zealand Falls Hut in the Pemigewasset Wilderness. Incredible forest vistas, streams, ponds and the Zealand Falls at the end.
