Depending on the time of year, and what floats your boat, there are hiking trails, mountain bike trails, disc golf course,, nordic skiing and downhill skiing. Though it's right in Traverse City, it's a very under utilized.

You'll find the trail at the end of 14th St about two blocks east of apartment. The trail connects to the grater TART tail that can take you to all the way to Suttons Bay to the north or out to Acme/Williamsburg to the east. If you go east, make a stop at Stonehound Brewery.
