The cerro de la silla is the iconic symbol for Monterrey. It's a steep, rocky hike that takes about 2 hours to reach the halfway point from which you can get an awesome view of the city. Bring plenty of water, snacks and mosquito repellent.

This is a large park that offers bike and tricycle rentals, has an indoor skating rink, a museum with its own restaurant, and tons of space to walk, run and work out with gorgeous scenery.

Food Scene
This place is a restaurant bar that typically broadcasts major sporting events as well as the sporting events for the local soccer teams. Prices are slightly elevated, but the food and brews are great. They offer local beers and can usually make a recommendation based on your likes. To my understanding, they also offer a full bar. Customer service is sub par, but that's to be expected around here.

Here you will find funky, vegan restaurants, flea markets with local art, historical buildings, cobblestone streets, and amazing places for a photo op. This used to be home to the electro/pop music clubs, and they're slowly making their way back.

Essentials
This is one of the closest grocery stores to our home, aside from Soriana which is about equal distance. Keep in mind that it's almost like Walmart in the sense that they usually only have a few registers open at any given time, so be prepared for long lines.

There is an Oxxo within walking distance from our house. This is your typical gas station convenience store without the gas station. Keep in mind that the employees are rude and will never have change for a $500 bill.
