Mollie Stone's Markets

the famous ice cream shop and well-stocked gourmet grocery store. Half a block from Dolores Park and perfect for picking up all the things you need for your picnic, sandwiches, takeout, cheese, wine / beer, chips, snacks, salad, fruit, etc. Tends to cater to the gourmet set, so is on pricey side. Note, the ice cream shop is separate from the grocery store. The lines for the ice cream are insane (can be an hour wait). If you like the people watching and sunshine, go for it… otherwise, I vote you get the soft serve, or they sell the same ice cream in pints at the grocery store.

Arts & Culture

Just re-opened, and it is bigger than MOMA NYC. Killer architecture by the Danish wonderchild that is Snøhetta. Features a huge living wall of plants (they claim it’s the largest in the US), a unique balcony view of downtown, and an extensive art collection from the Fishers (family that owns the GAP label headquartered in SF)

lots of trendy independent clothing, shoes, home goods shops, and cafes / restaurants. Azalea has really chic independent labels. For a casual bite I like Chez Maman for (mussels) or Souvla (hip greek sandwiches and salads). Two Sisters is very cozy for a glass of wine, as is Fig and Thistle
