The best "all rounder" in town. Great wholesome meals for $5-7, serve alcohol, great service, and great chilled Ubud vibe. The vege egg scramble for breakfast is a favourite, and the coffee is "OK" by Ubud standards.

Funky little restaurant with tasty food. Slightly more expensive then the usual cheap options ($10-15 lunch) but worth the extra spend. A 'Melbourne Cafe' vibe. The fish meals are always fresh.

A great "expat" style restaurant that overlooks the central soccer field in town. Very easy to kill some hours in here and the menu covers everything and everyone.

The best coffee in Ubud. They take their coffee seriously! If you need a decent coffee head here. There is a downstairs room with aircon, wifi, and comfy chairs!

The actual restaurant service is slow, however this is where we ALWAYS order delivery from. If you call them and say delivery to Patrick house in Tegal Bingin, Mas (teh-gal bing-en mah-s) then they'll know.

This is relatively close to the villa (only a 2 min drive away) and they do great coffee, good food, and it's a funky and fun decor + great art gallery out the back. This is our local "go-to" when we don't feel like going into town. Coffee is particularly good by Bali standards!

An organic restaurant relatively close to our villa (5 min drive away) that serves up really good quality organic dishes , with great clean traditional options. It is quite expensive by local standards but the setting is beautiful. Try the yellow rice dish!

A great slightly more upmarket restaurant ($10-20 meals) with a french theme. Same owners as Kafe and Yoga Barn, so quality and service is great. We always take our guests here for a nice meal. A good safe place for eating red meat - the morrocan lamb tarjine is delicious.

Great spot for the kids to burn off some energy when it is raining! It's an inflatable indoor amusement park. 'Indo style' place but only $5 per person and the kids love it. Only drinks there, no food, so take snacks or eat before you go.

Komune is a big beach club right on the beach, great surf straight in front of resort. Outside guests are welcome to use the big pool and eat and drink there. Great spot for families with younger kids, and there is also a kids park with skateboard park for the older kids. Perfect for surfing families... We head here once a week with the family.

This is the best waterfall within 30 mins of Ubud. An easy-ish walk down, and a beautiful setting. The water is muddy, so not amazing swimming but definitely worth the adventure as a beautiful part of Bali.

Everything Else
This is the little school our daughter goes to which is literally right on our street (about 200m before our villa, right next to the "Pura Telaga Waja" temple). It is set up for 3-6 year olds and is a fantastic school based around Montessori principles. They've got horses, goats, chickens, an organic garden... And the teaching staff are amazing. This would be a great option for someone renting our villa long term and e.g. wanted to put their kid into school here for a month.
