Parks & Nature
Drive to this beautiful mountain lake and walk around, find a rock to jump in from, fish for cutthroat trout, or begin a hike into the Pintlers. The Continental Divide Trail (CDT) is only a couple miles hike from the lake. The road is well-maintained until about 1/2 mile before the lake, where you may need to park and walk if you don't have a high-clearance vehicle.

Drive to this beautiful mountain lake and walk around, find a rock to jump in from, fish for cutthroat trout, or begin a hike into the Pintlers. Granite Montana was once the richest silver mine on earth, and had as many as 3,000 residents in the late 1800s. It is now completely uninhabited, but visitors are free to walk around the remaining structures and mine. It's a 5-mile drive from Philipsburg on a rough road, and a high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended.
