Austin Music

Live music
Austin wouldn’t be Austin without parks and music. Experience the honky tonks, blues bars, singer-songwriter pubs and world class stages that give Austin its “live music capital of the world" title. Our talented music industry professionals depend on our patronage to keep the music alive.
Formerly “Ginny’s Little Longhorn,” Austin county/rockabilly legend Dale Watson bought Ginny’s iconic neighborhood bar a few years back. Dale kept Ginny’s popular Sunday tradition of Chicken S#it Bingo while stepping up the quality of nightly bands. Cheap beer, great music and good dancers all found in this tiny Texas honky tonk.

Iconic music institution like the Saxon Pub, but more rockabilly, blues and honky tonk than singer-songwriter. Gary Clark Jr came up playing a weekly gig here, so don't miss the regulars

Austin’s most beloved honky tonk. Great bands nightly. Two-step lessons from the owner’s daughter weekends at 8. Check out the room full of photos of the greats who've graced the small stage - Dolly Parton, Willie, Kris Kristoferson, Kitty Wells, Bob Wills and George Straight. Once on the edge of town in a dirt parking lot, this institution has stood 50+ years while Austin grew up around it.

If you’re feeling adventurous, Carousel Lounge can hit the spot. Music can be hit or miss, but you’re nearly guaranteed to be entertained. The bar tenders serve cold beer and set ups, so bring your own bottle if liquor is your preference.
