Hiking
Buttermilk Falls is one of the many gorges that are the main attraction of Ithaca. The gorges, natural waterfalls, are great for hiking, natural beauty, and in some cases swimming. Buttermilk is close to the house and allows guests to swim, so it is a good gorge to visit.

Taughannock Falls is the most iconic gorge in Ithaca. Though it is a bit further of a drive than Buttermilk and there is no swimming, Taughannock is massive and beautiful. It is taller than Niagara Falls and some of the hiking trails go up over the gorge so you have a view of the waterfall from above.

Food scene
Great restaurant that also happens to brew all of the iconic Ithaca beers. Whether you're in the mood for something fruity, like the Apricot Wheat, or hoppy, like one of their many pale ales, or non-acoholic, like their crisp ginger beer, Ithaca beer co always has something good to drink.

My personal favorite restaurant in Ithaca. Just a Taste is a Tapas (multiple, small plates) restaurant that always seems to impress. A great place for a couple or small group, you can peruse the menu and order a flight of wine, a few different appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and get a taste of what the Ithaca food and drink scene has to offer. Just a Taste is located on Ithaca's central culinary street, next to The Commons.

Another Ithaca classic, this vegan/vegetarian restaurant has amazing salads and dressings. Everything they serve is fresh and homemade, and they really take advantage of the local farmers and produce to create exceptional healthy meals.

Sightseeing
The coolest thing Ithaca has to offer is the local farmers market which happens every weekend. If you are in Ithaca on over Saturday/Sunday and the weather is nice, this market is a *must see*. You can shop for some fresh groceries, flowers, art/souvenirs, kitchenware, and more, then order some brunch and retire to the lake front to relax in the sun.
