Sightseeing

Incredibly beautiful slot canyon hike ending with a waterfall. Lots of fresh blackberries in the late summer season can be picked along the trail. There is a natural spot for playing in the stream and/or sitting and watching the water just past the trailhead. Great for cooling off at the end of the hike or for just going to play in without going on the rest of the hike. (We like to do this with our kids and we bring chairs to sit in the shade while the kids catch tadpoles and build mudcastles.) For best parking, be sure to drive past the Squirrel Canyon trailhead, then past the first parking area seen, all the way up to until can't go any further. Bathroom is available at the trailhead in the parking lot. Do not attempt this hike during a flash flood warning!

A delightful family friendly park with lots of swings, play areas with a zip line, picnic areas and lots of shade provided by lots of large Cottonwood trees. Be sure to check out the old metal slide that goes down the hill! Find it at the north end of the park, crossing the parking lot road. At the bottom of the slide, explore to find the creek bed filled with soft pink sand - perfect for playing frisbee in! Avoid the creek bed during flash floods.
