The meeting between the waters of the Magdalena River and the Caribbean Sea can be seen in Bocas de Ceniza, the main mouth of the most important fluvial artery in Colombia. An engineering work was built on this site with breakwaters that narrow the mouths of the river so that the strength and speed of the current move the sediments and allow navigation.
