A favourite camp spot or ideal day trip to enjoy the gorgeous rocky beach, tidal pools, hiking and picnicking. It’s past Sooke, about 1.5 hours from our AirBnB.
Beautiful day trip from Victoria about 1.5 hr drive. 400 meter hike to the beach from the parking area. There are lots of stairs and it is steep in parts but doable if you have no mobility issues. Enjoy the wide rocky and sandy beach for the waterfalls, sunbathing, swimming, wildlife viewing, hiking and picnicking. Easy to spend the whole day here.

Quintessential Westcoast experience with gorgeous views along the hike and incredible tidal life. Do not remove shells, sea urchins, etc.. the parking lots are patrolled. Beware of bears and cougars so keep pets leashed and small children close. In 50 years hiking we’ve never had an incident.
