Sightseeing

This wall was a strategy to prevent the sea from coming inland during hurricane seasons. It goes along three municipalities: Old Havana, Centro Havana and Vedado. As time passed by Havana Malecon became more than just a simple wall. It’s a symbol of the city, a source of inspiration for songs, love affairs, even political events and tragedies. People and visitors seat there every day as the wall has become like benches to see the sunset, feel the breeze at night, fall in love or simply have a colloquium with the Yoruba Goddess Yemayá. That’s why it has been named the Big Havana Sofa. Some love jogging all along it while enjoying the magnificent view and it’s still the ideal spot for fishermen in the city.

The Capitol of Havana is similar to the one in Washington D.C but the Cuban bourgeoisie wanted to show off their wealth and that is why they built it one meter higher, one meter wider and one meter longer. In its lobby is the third largest indoor statue in the world, weighing 49 tons and completely covered in 22-karat gold. The designer was the Italian artist Angelo Zanelli and his model was the beautiful Cuban mulatto Lily Valty.

Centro Habana and Vedado are the heart of Havana, many of the most popular nightclubs, cabarets and bars are here. This is the part of the city that was born at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, its architecture, although still eclectic, it’s predominantly avant-garde. There are countless tourist attractions.

Dance School

You won't find a place like that in Havana! They are so passionate and very professional at what they do. At first you might think they only are a dance school but no! They are much more than that. Apart from the dance lessons they arrange city-dance tours and amazing experiences, and most important the dance school is located in a private gorgeous hotel in downtown Havana so you don't need to worry about accommodation and waste your time in those unpleasant but necessary travel routines because they take care of everything for you. Definitely you can't miss Dancing Cuba if you're planning to travel to Havana. I really recommend them.

CUBA, CURRENCIES. Get the most out of your travel budget:

Cuba has a dollarized economy with 2 currency exchange rates. The official currency exchange rate is lower than the non-official. Do not change money at government banks or ATMs. Keep your Cuban Peso amount low. Once you decide to depart nobody changes CUP back into USD or EUR. USD and EUR are the most frequently currencies used in everyday, common transactions. Most businesses only accept cash payments. Cards issued by American banks are not commonly accepted. However, you can opt to pay whether in cash or by card at the hotel, no matter if your card has been issued by an American bank.
