Rick Stein has a cafe and a restaurant here and either would be worth a visit - famous for his fish dishes and using lots of local produce, give it a go!

Twenty-five years ago, Heligan’s historic gardens were unknown and unseen; lost under a tangle of weeds. It was only the chance discovery of a door in the ruins that led to the restoration of this once great estate. Today, The Lost Gardens have been put back where they belong: in pride of place among the finest gardens in Cornwall and with 200 acres to explore you can spend all day there.

The harbour at Portloe has a tiny beach and you can swim there and sit on the rocks watching the fishing boats. You can fish yourself off the rocks nearby. The South West Coast Path runs by the harbour and you can walk the cliffs and see spectacular views in either direction. Lovely place for dogs to swim too.
