This little neighborhood restaurant is growing on me. It's been around forever, isn't too hip, and serves some darn good pasta. Bread arrives at the table quickly... it's good for kids.

John Taboada is probably one of the nicest restauranteurs in Portland. Super unassuming guy with phenomenal food. Also check out his other restaurant - luce.

Oh my gosh we love this place. Get the chicken hot buns and the Brussels sprouts salad. All the ramen is great too. Water St Coffee is just around the corner, as is Bunk Bar for the young hipsters.

We haven't been here in forever, but the fact that it is still around is a good sign. Solid Mexican. I remember the sopa being pretty darn good.

Lots of food carts at the intersection of 43rd and Belmont. The Scandinavian one - with potato pancake, pork meatball, cheese and red pickled cabbage - is crazy good.
