If you’re up for a good walk and some great views on a clear day of Africa and gibraltar. Try climbing sierra bermeja , the big mountain that is just. 20mins away by car. There are many routes you can take to get to this restaurant and the food is completely organic and locally produced . I love the massive fireplace they have in the center of the country style restaurant. The waiters have always been súper friendly and the food feels great after a good hike!! Well worth it if you like walking.

Great for carnivores! Fantastic meat , great views, and a friendly owner who will give you good recommendations. I recommend this restaurant if you want to do the walk between Benojan and jimera . Take the train from one or the other and it’s about a9km walk

I ate some Great oysters here. Worth it for anyone who loves fish and seafood! It’s a little expensive because it’s in Sotogande but if it’s like I remember it’s worth it!

This seaside restaurant is 10mins in car but it’s only open in summer. Reserve in advance to book a table on the evenings and enjoy the sunset over the bay. I would recommend the Galician octopus “pulpo la Gallega”

This is a really posh neighborhood… you can enjoy a nice meal by the quiet port. On Sundays they have a really nice market near the port too, where you can buy a real Panama hat or a cool oversized personalized beach bag.
It’s also a good place to go inline skating. I have a pair of size 40 in the cupboard beside the front door if you want to try.

If you want to go shopping or go to the cinema in English or have a night or day out with good food this is a good option. The port is crowded with the rich and famous and it’s worth going just to see the expensive yachts and Ferraris😉

Estepona has changed a lot in the last few years! The mayor has drastically improved the sea front. Now you can walk the whole area without a single car! It’s all pedestrian and this is I think the only town on the costa del sol that has that. There are loads of nice restaurants and they are maintaining their coastal fishing vibe and respecto ing the old facades of the buildings yet modernizing at the same time … I studied town planning and I can say it’s a case worth studying.

However when I finally went I found the bright green colour of the flora in the water combined with the natural white of the natural minerals in the water that comes directly from the underground springs amazing.
It is also worth a walk up the canyon before you take a dip and enjoy the amazing rock formations.
Take a packed lunch and you can eat your sandwiches on the picnic tables provided.

If your kids fancy an adrenaline hit on the sea this is the place for them to try kitesurfing… it’s in Tarifa so see where I recommend to eat there … this is a kids activity but I love it too.

This fruit and veg shop is open almost everyday from 9,30 and you can buy locally produced organic products as well as the sweet wine that Manilva is famous for.
They also sell cheese from Casares which is a must try .. if you arrive on Sunday it’s a good option to stock up on local health food
