The kitchen revolves around the handbuilt wood-fired oven, which produces a selection of sourdough breads and creative Canadian comfort food. Woodlot features two seasonally evolving menus: the first with offerings from their artisanal Meat purveyors and a second dedicated to Vegetarians. There is a large and ever evolving selection of intriguing natural wines, microbrewery beers, and seasonal cocktails to match the food and ambiance.

The room, all done up in maroon with, oddly enough, pops of leopard print, is dated—but endearingly so. It feels like stepping into the bar car of a train circa 1980.
