Family fun

A massive hit with the locals. Recently renovated Underhill Park has everything you'll need to keep your little ones entertained. A zip wire has also recently been installed. Next to the play park is also a big field so plenty of space to kick a ball around or walk your dog. To the back of the park is a free car park then it's just a short walk across the field to get to the park - please ask your hosts if you require more information.

One of our favourite summer spots. Arrive early to avoid the crowds. There is a takeaway shop serving drinks, fresh pastries and inflatable toys as-well as a cafe next to the pool. We recommend hiring the Santander bikes from on the promenade and cycling along the cycle path to get here making the most of the beautiful views of the bay. There is also free parking in the car park next to the Woodman pub in Blackpill. Be careful when parking as half of the car park is free while the other half requires payment.

Another beautiful beach is Langland. It is within walking distance from the cottage as it's just over a mile but quite a hilly walk. You can walk around from the smaller bay of Rotherslade to Langland. At Langland you will find a takeaway cafe as well as Langland Brasserie which serves fresh fish on their menu which can be paired with stunning wines while you relax and take in the stunning views on offer.

Come and explore this unique tropical haven of wonderful plants and animals situated in the heart of the city, from insects, reptiles, fish and monkeys to bananas, pineapple plants, prickly cacti and giant bamboo: Plantasia has it all! The Rainforest Hut has been built using tribal techniques and is full of fascinating features to study from hammocks and musical instruments to the fire pit and spirit masks, plus tribal singing in the background! The animal elements are fairly diverse, incorporating moneys and chameleons, parakeets and the aquarium. Plenty to look at for all ages with recognizable types and one of the largest snakes in the world: lovely! The Hot House Trail is a fun educational greenhouse walk which offers huge specimens of hot weather plants like giant bamboo and sugar cane, paw-paw, lime, cocoa, black pepper and the enticingly named but utterly inedible Lollipop Plant! The Arid and Tropical climate houses demonstrate the differing environments and which plants thrive in each. Really interesting!
