The church was built between 1646 and 1660 by the Augustinians and they lived there until the end of 18th century. Later the church was taken over by Franciscans.

In the summer time Pogačarjev trg hosts an event called Odprta kuhna (open kitchen). There you can eat freshly prepared food from THE best Slovenian restaurants with local chefs that present themself on this event. Food is prepared in front of you, so it is nice to watch and even nicer to eat. You can find all sorts of dishes, deserts, wines, etc. It only happens on Fridays from 10:00 to 21:00! If you have time you should definitely check it out! In case of heavy rain the event will probably be canceled.
