Plymouth. A lively, bustling port city in Devon, southwest England. known for its maritime/ naval, heritage and The Mayflower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for the New World in 1620. Head for the historic Barbican district with narrow, cobbled streets, Sutton Harbour to the National Marine Aquarium, where sharks and rays glide in a deep tank. Worthwhile visiting 'the Hoe' , the promenade and the outdoor Lido. Also in the harbour there is a local fish market, and large and small ferries cross the RiverTamar (car and passenger services) plus Britainy Ferries sailing to France and Spain.
