If you want to see all of the Faroe Islands at once, you have to drive up this road to a point 750 meters above sea level, where you can park your car and go see almost all of the Faroe Islands, mountain tops as far as the eyes can see on a clear day. And if it is foggy, you may be lucky to get above the fog, covering the valleys below. An absolutely amazing sight. OBS! Unfortunately Google Maps doesn't show the correct site. Please ask your host or the Tourist Information to show you on the map how to get there from the road Oyggjarvegur.

Saksun is a magical place. I recommend to drive to Saksun past the Saksun lake and take the first road to the left at the end of the lake, drive to the end of this road, leave the car and walk on the path down to the beach by the lagoon and all the way to the end of the valley where you will see the Atlantic Ocean. A surreal and fantastic hike.
