In the early years the customers had their own private and locked stall supervised only by the bartender. Maybe that’s the reason why Café Intime slowly began to be known as a place where homosexuals came.

The food is excellent, the wine selection is fantastic, and the ambiance is cozy and intimate, which is particularly appealing during the dark, cold winters, but also pretty great during the summer with the windows open and an opportunity to people-watch on one of Copenhagen's best streets.
