Food Scene

A lovely roadhouse. Not fancy food, they have burgers and pizzas and cocktails etc. The location is great, right next to the beach and it is lovely for kids as there as a great play area. Nice place to visit on a warm evening to have a cocktail, watch the sun go down while you might be lucky enough to watch the dolphins pass across the bay.

Farmyard Experience for Kids

Lovely little farmyard to visit if your kids want to see and feed cows, chickens, ducks, donkeys, ostriches, pigs etc. You get your own bucket of food and walk around by yourself. There is a great tea garden that sells light lunches and cakes etc and a lovely playground where your kids can run free while you sit and enjoy some tea.

Game Reserve

A great little game park in the city. It isn't a big park or a national park like Addo but rather land that a farmer has turned into a reserve. You are guaranteed to see rhino, lion, cheetah, giraffe etc there. The lion are rescued from a zoo and are kept in a separate enclosure and the cheetah are also kept in a drive in enclosure but the rest of the game are free roaming. The cheetah are fed at 12 from the restaurant every day. I always say it is a nice reserve to visit if you want to tick of some animals that you won't see in Addo. If you are going to Kruger then you don't need to bother with this one. It is great for kids because the animals are easily seen and close to the car. Restaurant on the reserve too as well as picnic area. Homeleigh Farmyard is just up the road from there too.

Just a 15 minute drive away to the South gate of the park into the Colchester Gate. Much safer to use this entrance as you skip the townships. It is an hour and a half on the Addo Rd or an hour and a half through the park so I always suggest through the park, South up the North and then back down again. The restaurant and shop is at the North gate so take some drinks and snacks with you if you enter at the bottom entrance.
