A beautiful modern seafront apartment just metres from the Blue Flag sandy beach of Westward Ho! - a haven for holiday makers and surfers alike. With floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors from the living area out to the generous balcony making the most of the views and setting. The apartment is just a short level walk to the centre of Westward Ho! to shops, cafes and restaurants.
Westward Ho! is a seaside village near Bideford in Devon, a great location for anyone looking for an outdoor adventure holiday, surfing and other water sports are right on the doorstep, as well as the rock pools and outdoor sea pool. Golfers can enjoy playing on the links course of the oldest golf course in England, The Royal North Devon golf course. Walkers and cyclists can experience the coastal pathways and the cycling trails that cross the area and those looking to relax can rest assured that they will love the two miles of sandy beach. A 10 minute drive will take you to local attractions such as the Big Sheep and the Ultimate Adventure Centre, or explore the quaint fishing village of Appledore. This is a duplex apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, while downstairs there is a large open plan living space including lounge, dining area and kitchen which lead out onto the balcony. The balcony is furnished with comfortable seating for 4 and a coffee table. Fleece blankets are provided for when the weather turns chilly so you can still watch the fantastic sunsets in comfort. The dining area includes a dining table with 4 colourful seats. The lounge is furnished with 2 sofas, a coffee table, a flat screen TV, DVD player and a library of DVDs, games and puzzles. The kitchen is well equipped, appliances include oven with hob, fridge, separate freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. There is also an additional cloakroom and toilet downstairs. A washing machine and tumble dryer are provided in the large boiler cupboard upstairs. The 2 bedrooms are generous sized rooms with zip and link beds allowing either a super king double bed or twin beds in both rooms. Both bedrooms contain a large built in wardrobe, bedside tables and TV with DVD player. There is an ensuite bathroom off the main bedroom, containing shower, W.C. and sink. The family bathroom contains bath with shower over, W.C. and sink. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with all linen, hand and bath towels included, also included is WiFi internet access. Travel cot, high chair and stair gate are available if required. You will also be greeted with a welcome pack on arrival providing tea, coffee, milk and cake. There is secure underground parking for one vehicle with additional gated parking at ground level.

Pinfolds place is a minutes walk from the seafront. Westward Ho! Is well equipped with shops , amusements , surf school, pubs ... the list goes on, you will always find something to do from walking along the beach front to trying kite surfing ! There is something for everyone ... you could simply read a favourite novel sat in the window watching the world go by as the waves roll in

  • We zijn net terug van een geweldig weekend bij Nix. Het is zo'n geweldige flat, met een ongelooflijk uitzicht over het strand en de zee! En ook zo'n goede locatie, slechts een paar minuten lopen naar het dorp waar pubs en eetgelegenheden zijn. We zijn nog maar net vertrokken en we willen echt terug! Nic was een briljante gastheer en communicatie was uitstekend! Heel erg bedankt!

    A spacious apartment with internal steps to kitchen and bedrooms. Large windows overlooking the quayside, conveniently located for Bideford’s shops and sitting above a Bakers and Newsagents. The listed building is double glazed.
    Town Centre location, there are numerous cafes and bars along the quayside as well as Bakers and Fish and Chip Shop. Behind the apartment the town centre boasts many independent shops, cafes, bars and night club. The Tarka Trail is a five minute walk across the bridge and cycle hire and kayak hire are both available from here. The fishing village of Appledore is a ten minute drive as are the beaches of Wesrward Ho! and Instow.

  • Darryn is een vriendelijke en behulpzame gastheer. Het goed verwarmde appartement overtrof onze verwachtingen. Het heeft een grote stijlvolle lounge met een echt comfortabele lederen suite en uitzicht over de rivier de Torridge. De keuken heeft een eettafel en stoelen en er zijn twee barkrukken met een bijpassende tafel, waar we onze koffie en cake hadden, een ideale plek om mensen te kijken. De parkeerplaats voor lang parkeren, noordwaarts langs de kade van de accommodatie, kost een redelijke £ 3 voor 24 uur vanaf het moment dat u een kaart koopt voor dezelfde tijd de volgende dag. We kijken uit naar ons volgende bezoek!

  • Darryn was een uitstekende gastvrouw die op veel manieren erg behulpzaam was. Het appartement was een comfortabele en ruime plek in het hart van Bideford. Het was goed uitgerust met een prachtig uitzicht over de rivier. Tal van interessante winkels om te bladeren op loopafstand. Parkeren is overdag duur, maar we vonden gratis parkeren in de buurt na 16.00 uur (het was de hele dag gratis op zondag)

    Nautilus 10 is an award winning architect designed duplex apartment within yards of 2 miles of sandy beach at Westward Ho!.It's perfect for families or couples who want to experience a great location and 5 star accommodation at any time of year. The master bedroom has a king size canopied bed, sea facing balcony and luxury ensuite bathroom. Bedroom two has twin beds and is served by a shower room and toilet off the adjacent landing.The light filled open plan living room has magnificent sea views through huge glass windows and access to two balconies for breakfast or perhaps watching the sun set..The fully equipped kitchen is next to the dining area which can seat six + two stools at the breakfast bar.
    Three small supermarkets + a butchers, bakers and several restaurants and takeaways a few minutes away. Two miles of sandy beach and glorious walks on your doorstep.

    I've had a lot of complements for my stylish one-bedroom apartment. The view of the sun setting over Lundy Island from the living room is spellbinding. Kipling Terrace towers over The Ho! It has panoramic views of the sea, nature reserve, England's oldest golf course and Saunton Sands. I'm 10 minutes from the beach - two miles of golden sand, surf and grazing ponies. A short walk through beautiful woodland takes you to the cliffs - all the way to Clovelly and then beyond to Hartland.
    Pros: 1. Amazing views. 2. Spacious living room (5m x 5m x 3m). 3. Comfy leather sofas. 4. It's stylish. Cons: 1. You need to park about 50 metres from the front door (in an allocated space on private land. 2. It's a residential block of flats. It's my home and has my stuff in it. 3. The porch as you come in needs some TLC. 4. No TV. Changes: The photos were taken by the official AirBnB photographer and I've added some improvements since. 1. Even more books on fitted shelves. 2. Vintage leather sofa with armchairs and poof (really comfy). 3. Cleared more space in the bedroom. The living room really is rather grand and has been recently decorated in the period style. The bay windows look over Lundy Island, the ocean, the nature reserve. This is a one bed flat. Kipling Terrace was built in 1869 and is a Grade II listed building. It's grand and white, and reminds me of Brighton. This very building is where Rudyard Kipling went to school. There are wooden floors, relaxing green decor, a statement fireplace, and shelves heaving with books. There is a high quality hifi in the living room (and a second in the bedroom) for those who like music. The living room is 5m x 5m with 3m high ceilings so really does have a sense of space. There is a good sized dining table and six chairs in the bay window. There is a very comfy double bed in the bedroom, which has French windows leading to a private balcony. Both rooms are newly decorated. There is William Morris wallpaper in the hall and the bedroom (the living room will get some soon) which personally I find mesmerising. The kitchen is small and has everything you need, and has been recently stocked with brand new pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. The bathroom has a good shower and bath. This is my home, but room has been set aside in draws and wardrobes for guests to make themselves fully at home. The flat has super fast WiFi - 30mbs - which so far has been completely reliable. Note - there is no TV. There is a small woodland behind the building, which brings birdsong in the evenings.
    I have a real fondness for Westward Ho! It is about to be gentrified, but for now at least remains a diamond in the rough. The sets of waves are perfect for surf beginners. There is a great fish and chip shop. Sea and surf, fish and chips, coastal walks and cute holiday chalets. The Ho! is more of a village than a town, and sits alongside a long, golden beach. It is a popular destination with surfers, offering reliable sets of waves, and is also safe for younger swimmers and families. It also boasts the country's oldest golf club where the course is a nature reserve, which is worth visiting for the collection of historic clubs and stunning open views of the course - the perfect spot for a gin and tonic. Moran's is the best Thai food for miles around and the next door chip shop rivals any in North Devon. The Pier House is our best pub, with incredible views over the rocky shoreline and really good food. We are equidistant for Braunton and Saunton to the north and Bude to the south, making it the ideal spot for those chasing surf, and also people who want to be out sightseeing. We are a long hike along the coast to Clovelly, which I would contest is Britain's least spoiled village, and the best place I know for a crab sandwich. We also have the unique Tapeley Park close by, with Italian gardens and cream teas, the Milky Way Adventure Park and the Big Sheep, which everyone keeps telling me is a must see for any visitor to North Devon.

    Modern caravan within 5 minute walk of beach and Westward Ho! Amenities. The caravan has 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) along with a sofa bed in the lounge area. There is a family bathroom with double shower as well as a toilet/sink en-suite to the master bedroom. The caravan boasts central heating and double glazing and is equipped with a range of cooking utensils and crockery. The decking area is a sun trap in the afternoon and evenings. 2 deckchairs are provided.
    The caravan is bright and airy and boasts a large open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with patio doors that open onto the decking. The decking overlooks the communal garden.
    The caravan is 5 minute walk from the beach, across Northam Burrows. It is also a 5 minute walk to the centre of Westward Ho where there are numerous cafes, restaurants, bars and shops.

    The space has a high end interior finish which lends itself to extremely comfortable living. The sea views are incredible and on a clear day the sunset over Lundy Island is amazing. All in walking distance of one of the best Beaches in North Devon!

    Self-contained apartment. Lounge with woodburner & kitchen downstairs, large bathroom (roll-top bath and sep. shower) & kingsize bedroom upstairs. Private, safe parking and own garden - outdoor furniture & BBQ. Cosy, elegant, fully equipped.
    The apartment is more like a cottage, although an annex of the house. It is comfortably and cosily furnished, with a leather sofa in the lounge and armchair, large TV with Freeview and DVD player. There is an Aga woodburner (multi-fuel), plenty of books and chess/cards/connect 4/dominoes. There are wall lights, a central light and 2 lamps in the lounge which give versatile and ambient lighting. The apartment has large windows which give lots of light. The apartment is cool in the summer and very warm in the winter. The ground floor is oak flooring throughout. There is an electric fan oven, integral microwave and gas hob in the kitchen. There is also a washing machine, outdoor rotary line and indoor clothes airer. An iron and ironing board is stored in the understairs cupboard. There is a fridge with small freezer compartment and the kitchen is fully equipped, even for baking should you feel the need! The bedroom is a very good size with kingsize very comfy bed and excellent quality cotton bedding. There is a large 3-drawer dressing table with large mirror over (hairdryer is in the top drawer). The wardrobe is large with shelving and hanging space. There is a feature fireplace with pretty tiled surround in the bedroom, 2 bedside tables and lamps plus another lamp on the dressing table, all very cosy in the evening. There is also a TV in the bedroom with Freeview. The bedroom is carpeted. The bathroom is lovely - light, airy and very large. It has a large shower, super-powerful, a lovely roll-top modern bath, tiled floor and walls and lots of candles. There is a small feature fireplace and two windows overlooking the garden with white venetian blinds. The bathroom gets beautiful evening sunlight as one of the windows faces west. I provide towels, toilet paper, and hand soap.
    Westward Ho! is wonderful. It has the most amazing sunsets with Lundy Island on the horizon. It has a 3-mile long beach with soft, golden sand and a huge pebble ridge which seperates the beach from Northam Burrows - both of which are perfect for dog walking. Dog walking permitted year-round on certain parts of the beach (signposted at the beach). Parking is pretty good in Westward Ho! - some is free, some is cheap and there is miles of parking on the burrows if you're heading to the beach (parking charges apply). There are good eateries in Westward Ho! - if you like Thai, Marans is superb. The decor is intimate and inviting, food is fantastic and the staff very warm. There is also an Italian restaurant, a good cafe (The Rockpool) which is friendly, very clean and good value - great for fry-ups, burgers, bolognaise and baked potatoes etc and a fish and chip restaurant - all have outdoor seating and sea views. The Pier House bar and restaurant has spectacular views over the sea and great outdoor decks with glass fronts for optimum viewing. The perfect way to watch the sun set. There are plenty of pubs in Westward Ho! plus The Thatched Inn at nearby Abbotsham - chocolate box pub with a very pretty garden. Also the Pig on the Hill is nearby offering gastro-quality pub food and plenty of outdoor space with lovely countryside views. The village of Westward Ho! has 2 bakeries, a butcher, a lovely Deli which sells fresh Artisan bread every morning, a very handy Co-op (7am - 10pm), Tesco Express (7am - 10pm), Premiere Store (7am - 9pm) and pharmacy. There is a post office and various gift shops. Appledore and Instow are nearby, both of which are stunningly beautiful (guests must try Hockings Ice Cream - vans are parked at Appledore, Bideford, Instow and Westward Ho! most days and into the early evening during the summer). Bideford and Barnstaple are both market towns (Bideford 2 miles, Barnstaple 9 miles). There are beautiful coastal walks around Westward Ho! - areas to note are Abbotsham Cliffs, Greencliffe, Peppercombe, Bucks Mills, Hartland and Clovelly. Cycling is fantastic here with the Tarka Trail - covering the old railway lines from Braunton to Torrington, so a good flat ride. Lovely for walking too. There is no better place to surf - Westward Ho is a Blue Flag beach, one of the cleanest in the country. Great for windsurfing, kitesurfing, swimming , paddle-boarding and kayaking. The Torridge river is also a great kayaking spot (launch from Bideford or Appledore). There are public tennis courts in Westward Ho! plus Golf at the Royal North Devon Golf Club (the oldest links course in the country - spanning the breadth of Northam burrows). Fishing trips can be booked from Appledore - I can arrange this in advance for guests if needed. There is a leisure centre with indoor pool and gym at Northam (1.5 miles).

  • Deze plek is ongelooflijk waar voor je geld. Het is echt mooi en zo'n grote ruimte! Het huis is brandschoon en door de hoge plafonds voelt het echt luxe aan. Alles lijkt nieuw en de keuken is goed uitgerust voor een goede maaltijd, uitstekende badkamer en comfortabel bed. We hebben genoten van ontspannen in de zon - de hele middag volle zon in uw privétuin - met een BBQ, en de wandeling naar het strand is een geweldige kleine training. Absoluut idyllische plek - we zullen zeker terugkomen!

  • We voelen ons zo gelukkig dat we in Annabel's huis hebben gevonden en kunnen blijven en konden niet om meer hebben gevraagd - we hadden een geweldige week en genoten van elke minuut dat we er waren. Annabel was geweldig om mee te communiceren en erg meegaand. De eenheid was zeer modern, schoon en goed uitgerust met alles wat we nodig hadden voor ons verblijf. De unit keek uit op de zee en elke ochtend was dit het eerste wat te zien was als je de lounge binnenliep. Het was geweldig om een balkon te hebben, dus we konden elke avond prachtige zonsondergangen bekijken - ja, we hadden ook veel geluk met het weer! Het beste deel was in staat om te wandelen op het strand op slechts een steenworp afstand en dat was enorm toen het tij was. We konden gemakkelijk overal rond Westward Ho lopen! met de gemakswinkels dichtbij en probeerde een aantal restaurants. We hebben de auto alleen gebruikt om andere gebieden te verkennen. Bedankt voor een gedenkwaardige week Annabel en hopen dat we kunnen bezoeken en er weer verblijven.

    Quiet pleasant site. Westward ho is a pleasant village by the sea in North Devon. The village itself has amusements, go-karts, children's activities and has several good restaurants and bars. A short stroll from the village and the beach. During August the sunset festivals are held locally each Saturday in the village green with live entertain for the family. You can hire surf boards, SUP's, take lessons or just chilli in this resort. The sunsets are stunning.

    This is a lovely, homely and spacious apartment with fantastic views down to the beach. The apartment is all on one level with its own front door onto the street, no communal areas at all. It has its own outside enclosed deck which is ideal for drying washing or having a morning cuppa. There are 2 steps from the hall into the kitchen, everywhere inside is level. There are steps out of the back door to reach the deck. The master bedroom has a lovely big king sized bed and there are two full size singles in the second bedroom. The apartment is well equipped throughout and really does feel like a home from home!
    Westward Ho’s most special feature is its award winning beach which is simply stunning, particularly at sunset, and it’s only a 5 minute walk away. Strolling into the village will give you access to The Co-operative & Tesco express for your groceries. Asda & Morrison’s are a 5 minute drive. There’s an atm at Tesco’s.   • De Linhay is een fantastisch klein huisje in The Pines in Eastleigh en had alles wat we nodig hadden om weg te komen voor een lang weekend. Het huisje is gerenoveerd tot een hoge standaard en heeft een goed uitgeruste keuken voor luie avonden die op de patio zitten kijken over de tuinen. Het bed is ongelooflijk comfortabel en het hele gebied straalt de vrede uit, waardoor je langer dan gewoonlijk leugens maakt! Chris en Carol waren geweldige gastheren, ondanks het aankomen laat in de avond na een lange rit, Carol was er nog steeds om ons te groeten en een frisse room thee, vers brood en eieren van de plaatselijke boerderij zaten en wachten op ons. Ze hebben geweldige tips over waar te gaan om de drukte te vermijden en we bevonden ons op een bijna verlaten strand ondanks het feit dat het een zonnige bankvakantie zondag is! Zelfs als u in de zelfstandige huisjes verblijft, raden wij u aan om te reserveren voor hun ontbijt, dat zeer royaal was en absoluut uitstekend was. Het kleine dorpje Eastleigh heeft niet veel te bieden in termen van winkels, maar een grote tesco is 5 minuten verderop en een meer lokale Deli is verkrijgbaar met lokale gerechten en producten, op slechts 10 minuten in Instow. We vonden de locatie een perfecte balans van rust en stilte, maar nog steeds slechts 10 minuten van de lokale steden en stranden. Kan het niet genoeg aanbevelen !!

    Our property is a real home from home. My husband and I have lived here for over 25yrs. We are extremely lucky to have probably the best view in Appledore, and although the village is extremely welcoming, you will probably find yourselves sat on our comfy corner sofa, with a drink of your choice, staring out at the spectacular uninterrupted views where the Rivers of Taw and Torridge meet, with Northam Burrows and Westward Ho! Beyond to Saunton Sands Beach and Burrows, Instow and Exmoor.
    Our flat is based in a block of 15. The accommodation on offer is placed on the 3rd floor, due to being built on a hill it still has almost flat access to the front door. Our direct neighbours have lived next door for over 20 years. There is a short cut of 10 minutes to the village centre, and 5 minutes to two fab pubs both of which serve amazing food, including fresh locally caught fish and seafood, the walk down involves long steps that lead along a path from our property there is also a road that leads to the village with large car park with plenty of parking in the village. Our property has plenty of free parking in a car park, with a few steps down then almost level walk to the front door. Our property has a fully equipped kitchen, I love to cook so store cupboard items, spices, pasta, flour etc, are available for you to use whilst at the property. We will also leave Tea and Coffee and milk to get you started. Separate toilet with toilet rolls provided and cleaning products. Our bathroom has a large modern walk in shower with electric shower, due to water pressure hand basin has only cold water. Cupboard has plenty of complimentary toiletries, and cleaning products. There is No Bath. IMPORTANT INFO: Duvets and 4 pillows per bed are provided. If you require linen for the beds it is charged at £10 per bed, this will also includes 2 x bath towel per room. Tea Towels and Hand Towels and shower mat ARE provided You will need to bring beach towels. If you have long hair might be advisable to bring an extra towel, as drying areas are limited. There is a line and pegs. Along the hallway are two double Bedrooms of similar size, one with King size bed and one with a double. Both have stunning views across the estuary and beyond. There is hanging space in the double room. The Double bedded room can accommodate a travel cot, available on request. There is coat hanging space in the hall area. The hall leads onto a spacious kitchen, with hopefully everything you will need, it has a washing machine, no tumble drier, ceramic hob and eye level oven. Fridge freezer, pot pans and dishes. A High chair is also available upon request. There is a large breakfast bar that seats 5 ........but we hope you will frequent the village, it has plenty of food and drink options. We hope that you enjoy our home, it is not a 4 star hotel, but sure feels like it to us, cosy and welcoming. We ask that you always remove your shoes at the front door, and any spills however small or accidental are cleaned up immediately. We are a completely Non Smoking property and ask that if you smoke or Vap you do so at the end of the walkway away from the immediate neighbours. There is NO gas on the premises, so no carbon monoxide detector required.
    Appledore is a quaint historic fishing village in North Devon. We have an several Restaurants, Pubs, fish n chips and coffee shops, many award winning, you will be spoilt for choice. We have 2 slipways by which you can launch your boats. (small fee) Appledore Lifeboat can be seen from our window and you are welcome to wander around the boathouse when open, use the slip way to go rock pooling, fishing and crabbing. A delicatessen and local supermarket, art gallery and beautiful gift shops can be found in the village, make sure you take a stroll around the village, so much to see and not too many vehicles. The locals are friendly, and will welcome you with open arms, probably will want to know your life story but will be happy to raise a glass with you and pass the time of day. The local pubs have a good selection of music a few days of the week, with open mike and jamming sessions a couple of days also. Fresh fish is available from most of the pubs, caught by local fisherman, fresh fish is also available from the quay to purchase and cook or take home.     West Quay House underwent extensive renovation in 2018/9 and offers all modern comforts. The decor is fresh with a coastal influence that reflects the narrative of this grade II listed building and the contemporary top floor extension. It is divided into two apartments with a common entrance, both offer sea views. The ground floor apartment sleeps 5, and the upper apartment that occupies both the first and second floors, also sleeps 5.     Appledore has many pretty, colourful winding picturesque streets, Irsha street being one of the most well known; great for a stroll. Appledore has a fish and chip shop, restaurants and tea rooms and its own ice cream – Hockings, sold on the main quay. There are many other places for the family to enjoy not far from Appledore. A 10 minute drive takes you to the Big Sheep and the ultimate adventure centre, 20 minutes to RHS garden Rosemoor. Skern Lodge adventure centre is based in Appledore and provides activites such as archery, kayaking, coastering and surfing.
