“The Ghibli Museum (三鷹の森ジブリ美術館, Mitaka no Mori Ghibli Bijutsukan) is the animation and art museum of Miyazaki Hayao's Studio Ghibli, one of Japan's most famous animation studios. They have produced many feature-length films with worldwide distribution such as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. Located in Mitaka, just outside of central Tokyo, the museum is a must-see for fans of the films. The museum itself is whimsically designed in the distinct style of the studio's films, and many of their famous characters are there, including a life-sized robot from "Castle in the Sky" in the rooftop garden. The first floor of the museum exhibits the history and techniques of animation and has as a small theater which shows short movies by Studio Ghibli that are exclusive to the museum. The second floor houses special temporary exhibitions. The museum also has a cafe, children's play area, a rooftop garden, and a gift shop.”

A joint project of the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the National Museums Independent Administrative Institution, it stands on a site formerly occupied by a research facility of the University of Tokyo. The building has been designed by Kisho Kurokawa. It is one of the largest exhibition spaces in the country.[2] Access is from Nogizaka Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. Unlike Japan's other national art museums, NACT is an 'empty museum', without a collection, permanent display, and curators. Like Kunsthalle in German-speaking regions, it accommodates temporary exhibiti”

“Great thing to do in Tokyo, the museum has lots of examples of Japanese armour, weapons and other things. You can try going for a tour of the museum, and the staff seemed interested in their subject and very positive and enthusiastic to talk about it to visitors. They let you try on a helmet and wield a katana Worth the ticket price!”

“ An art museum specializing in Western art in Ueno Park. In addition to holding many works such as Monet and Rodin, you can't miss the exhibition that has always been a hot topic. It is also a topic that the main building has been registered as a World Cultural Heritage as a component of "Le Corbusier's architectural work-a remarkable contribution to the modern architectural movement-", it is a spot where you can enjoy not only art appreciation but also building appreciation.”
