Scenic Lookout
“It has stunning view on Stirling from above. It's also a part of Scottish national heritage and like in case of every old construction it comes with a story.”

Department Store
“Great for a visit to this extensive delicatessen, full of highland specialities, not to mention a wee dram. Wander amongst the country clothing and home making departments. But don’t miss the short walk to the Falls of Bruar to the right of the clearance department.”

Kasteel
“Starring Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) , ITV series Victoria focuses on the early years of the Queen’s reign, during which time she visited Highland Perthshire on a number of occasions. Filming took place at Blair Castle to tell the story of one of those visits, with two of the estate’s native Highland ponies used as Victoria and Pince Albert’s own ponies. Several Atholl Highlanders, the régiment which Queen Victoria herself founded, also feature in the episode. Blair Castle has been the home of the Atholl family for more than seven centuries and visitors can discover its history against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scotish baronial architecture.”

Kasteel
“40 minutes drive from The Bothy. I just visited this castle with friends in Sep 2019 as many of my guests had been following it featuring in Outlander. It’s a great visitor experience for only £9 adults can enjoy a tour with free audio description at relevant points. There’s access almost all areas up close and unrestricted with stairs and passageways taking you almost to the top. My favourite was the great picture windows on the highest level and the audio description of how the Outlander crew created a Scottish village below. The village of Doune itself has great independent shops & eateries - there’s a great post office/information centre with historic information about Doune. A favourite local daytime eating place is The Buttercup Cafe. ”

Ski Area
“This is a ski resort, of sorts, in Scotland -- the snow might blow off the mountain, you might be blown backwards up the hill as you lean in, you might end up hiring 80's Nevica retro skiboots -- so it's not so much for the fashion victim. But it's a fun day out when the snow's up and well worth a visit. ”

“Eat lunch here, taking the drive up behind Comrie on the road that goes over the moors. The food is very nice (simple lunchtime fare) and you have a wonderful view of the surrounding hills. The staff are lovely, and if you have children they’ll have a chance to pet a lamb or rabbit.”
