“Stunning winery and restaurant with an outdoor sculpture park. Admission is $10 but grab a glass of wine and take it with you on your walk. Spectacular views! The restaurant cocktails and food is delicious, more of a special occasion venue but they also have a casual menu in the wine tasting area. If going for dinner or lunch please book! ”

“FOR ART LOVERS - Wow your date by eyeballing some art at Mornington Peninsula's most impressive galleries and sculpture gardens. Start off at Pt. Leo Estate, where a mammoth cellar door is paired with a restaurant boasting seasonal produce. The estate's rolling vineyards overlook the ocean, plus there's a sprawling sculpture park, featuring 50 large-scale works, with panoramic Western Port Bay views.”

“Next to the always amazing Merricks Wine Store, Stonier’s cellar door is a relaxed, casual, but passionate affair. The building was designed by Daryl Jackson and build in 1991, and still sits so beautifully on the land. The building is reminiscent of being in a shed, they’ve taken a more agricultural approach to their tastings, stand around a wine barrel or on the bar and let the staff regal you with tales of the Peninsula. There’s also a kids play area and large tables where you can BYO your food to match with one of Stonier’s wines. ”

“Begins at out gate. A terrific walk. Quite gentle on the way to Merricks and quite challenging on the way back, but you can break it up with a lunch at the general store in Merricks!”

“Walking the secluded and peaceful Red Hill Rail Trail offered me a great opportunity to get away from it all – or get back to it all, depending on how you look at ‘it’ – if only for a few hours. The track, suitable for all walkers and riders runs between Red Hill South and Merricks Station Ground, mostly along the route of the old Red Hill Rail Line. The trail has a distinct local feel, being tucked away from the nearby tourist stops and taking you past the back of stunning private, rural properties, and vineyards. At other times tall pine trees provide shelter from any outside distraction. It is an informal walk with little obvious signage. Drinking water is also not available. ”

“A MUST visit in the Red Hill region! Possibly the best Cellar Door experience of them all with its smart food, amazing Pinot, new Cellar Door and family charm. Open weekends Merricks Creek Winery is a breath of fresh air on the Mornington Peninsula. Sit back on the raised deck and enjoy Mediterranean shared dishes and wine by the glass. Dishes are rewarding with small sharing plates not taking long to come out to the table. Think Italian rustic. Dishes are only $10-15 for the smart small seasonally changing sharing dishes. It's the sort of food we are wanting to see at a winery; unpretentious, delicious, fresh, seasonal, simple and rewarding. A highlight is Rare eye fillet, caper vinaigrette and ciabatta, and the 20 month aged Italian prosciutto di Parma, Shaw River buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes and basil with ciabatta.”

“Walk from Merricks Station near the lovely Merricks General Store to Red Hill, refresh at The Epicurian and return. 14km total. This picturesque walk passes through farmland along the old railway line. ”
