An en-suite room in a 400 years old traditional English farm house, cosy and nice, breakfast included. Over 1000 excellent reviews! Long-term committed hosts, close to popular wedding venues like Lapstone, Charingworth Manor, Mickleton Hills Farm
Would you like to experience authentic rural England ? There is not a better location than an old Saxon hamlet originally listed in the Domesday Book in the picturesque rolling hills of the North Cotswolds. There is not a better place there than a room in our 17 century farm house with its original features - beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace, AGA cooker. Our house imaginatively called 'The Old House', was built just after the chaos caused locally by the English Civil War in the second half of the seventeenth century. It has been updated a little since then though. This is a place for those who appreciate and respect the "old". This listing is for our Yellow Room with its own en-suite on a B&B basis. Please note this is a smaller room and if you like to a more spacious room with a bigger bed, check our other listing. Free parking and free Wi-Fi available.
Hidcote Boyce is a typical small cotswold village - it has not materially changed for the last three to four hundred years. This makes it relatively unique in a rapidly changing world.

Sprankelend schoon, geweldige lokale tips, fantastisch ontbijt! Sterk aanbevolen.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Chipping Campden is one of the main market towns in the North Cotswolds, built by medieval traders with wealth created from the wool trade. With many thatched cottages, this is one of the most picturesque towns in the region. A notable feature of the town is the Market Hall which was built in 1627. Originally thought to be used in the wool trade, the main function of the hall was actually to give shelter to local cheese, poultry and butter sellers. The High Street is relatively small, taking just five minutes to walk from one end to the other, and it has a number of well-regarded eateries ranging from tea houses to dining pubs and restaurants. This main street curves in a shallow arc which is flanked on both sides by terraces of ancient houses, each house having its own embellishments. This feature of the town is one of the reasons why, in 1970, the street was officially designated as a conservation area. Chipping Campden marks one end of the Cotswolds Way which is a 102 mile National Trail linking Chipping Campden to Bath. For the majority of the trail it follows the Cotswold escarpment which gives the walker fantastic views of the surrounding scenery. The Way passes through many traditional villages and close to historical sites including Sudeley Castle near Winchcombe and Hailes Abbey. The countryside along the Way is very diverse, ranging from wildflower meadows to beech woodlands, providing visitors with perfect examples of Britain's stunning landscape. Food & Drink Chipping Campden has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: The Kings Hotel (www.kingscampden.co.uk): Modern British food with a contemporary twist. You will encounter mouth-watering choices like a starter of Duck Rillets with a Pea Panna Cotta & Pomegranate dressing, or main course of Braised Belly Pork & Fillet, Crispy Langoustine Tail, Roasted Apple, Celeriac Choucroute & Dauphinoise Potato. To finish, the dessert menu promises blissful indulgence with the likes of Caramel Banana Mousse, Pain D’epice & Coffee Soil. For a more informal option, relax in the friendly atmosphere of the stylishly refurbished Brasserie bar, serving morning coffee & brunch through to afternoon tea & dinner. Enjoy favourites such as Mussels in Garlic & White Wine, Home-made Aberdeen Angus Burger, Focaccia, Smoked Bacon & Tomato Relish with Fries; Cotswold House Hotel (www.cotswoldhouse.com): The kitchen team take their inspiration from the finest offerings of dedicated producers - whether it be wholesome crusty breads, locally-churned cheeses, home-reared meats, best Cornish fish, vegetables from the lush Vale of Evesham, or jams and preserves from small-scale artisan producers. The result? The very best of modern British cooking. Wonderful, simple food served at lunch and dinner in The Cotswold Grill or at dinner in The Dining Room at Cotswold House. On warm days, enjoy a drink, coffee, or lunch on the Pavilion Terrace tucked away in the hotel garden, its borders awash with summer colour. Sit under a shady umbrella and enjoy the peace and quiet from morning coffee to your early evening sun-downer; Michael’s Mediterranean Restaurant(www.michaelsmediterranean.co.uk): Specialising in Greek and modern Mediterranean cuisine, served in a relaxed, intimate setting.

Sterk aanbevolen!

Just off the high street is a fun-filled playground and activity park with an array of activities for children of all ages, and the late-night Christmas market, which runs from early December, is growing in popularity. A short, yet energetic walk along part of the Cotswold Way walking trail climbs up to Broadway Tower, with breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside. Broadway is an ideal location for exploring the many pretty towns and villages of the North Cotswolds, as well as other tourist destinations, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Weavers Cottage is an end of terrace property located in the upper high street, just a few minutes’ walk from the centre. Set back from the road, the front door opens into an entrance hall, with the following rooms on the ground floor: Living room: A beautiful room with plenty of character features including exposed beams, Cotswold stone walls and a pretty window seat. The large inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove takes centre stage, and there is a wall-mounted Freeview TV, large sofa and distressed leather armchairs; Kitchen/dining room: A stylish, contemporary, open plan space with a well-equipped kitchen and smart dining table with seating for five. The sociable kitchen space has an electric cooker with four-ring induction hob, a combined fridge/freezer, wine cooler and dishwasher. There is a microwave, kettle, toaster and a filter coffee machine, as well as a washing machine/tumble dryer; Bedroom 3: Overlooking the garden, this cosy bedroom contains a single bed and shower room, with walk-in shower and wash basin; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A characterful room which contains a super king size bed and an ensuite bathroom, with walk-in rain shower, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 2: Another lovely room with a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom, with a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. A door from the kitchen leads out to a patio area, with three steps that lead up to a pretty, pebbled area with mature shrubs and outside seating. There is one allocated parking space close by and further parking is available in the pay and display car park, a short walk from the cottage.
Broadway is a beautiful village in the North Cotswolds, steeped in history and surrounded by stunning countryside. The village gets its name from the wide street, or broad way, that runs through the centre which was once the main road from Worcester to London. This attractive High Street is bordered with chestnut trees and honey coloured stone cottages dating from the 16th century and is one of the most picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. The broad way is thought to be especially wide because at one time there used to be streams running each side of the main drive. These streams were eventually hidden in underground pipes where they would emerge at 'dipping' points, but sadly they are now almost completely invisible. The village has artistic links with famous dwellers including J.M. Barrie, Mary Anderson and William Morris, who were drawn to the tranquillity of Broadway. It was here that Morris and John Ruskin pioneered the idea of the Arts and Crafts Movement which made its home in the area and went on to be an international movement. One of the iconic features of the village is Broadway Tower which was built in the late 18th century by the Earl of Coventry. It is said that the tower was erected so that the Countess could see if her Cotswold estate was visible from Croome Court in Worcestershire, which it was. The folly stands some 1,024 feet above sea level, making it the second highest point in the Cotswolds after Cleeve Hill. In fact, on a clear day, visitors are able to see 14 counties from the top! William Morris was so taken by the tower that he went on to establish the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings in 1877. Food & Drink Broadway has a number of places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a sample of the options available: Russell's (www.russellsofbroadway.co.uk): Head Chef, Neil Clarke, serves modern British food in the award-winning restaurant, with local Vale of Evesham and Cotswold produce featuring throughout the daily-changing menus. The modern, airy dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with friendly staff and laid-back service combining to create a relaxed and warm setting, day and night; The Lygon Arms (http://www.thehotelcollection.co.uk/hotels/the-lygon-arms-hotel-cotswolds/): A 17th century minstrel's gallery, a grand open fire and an imposing barrel-vaulted ceiling greet you as you enter The Great Hall, the main dining room of the famous Lygon Arms Hotel. A destination in its own right, people travel miles to enjoy the restaurant's 2 AA Rosettes for excellence sumptuous cuisine and warm friendly service of the highest quality. A few steps across the courtyard, Lukes Bistro offers a relaxing atmosphere serving traditional English cuisine with a contemporary twist, equally as imaginative and as fresh, using ingredients that are grown and reared locally, including a wide range of herbs and plums from the hotel's own orchards; The Potting Shed (www.dormyhouse.co.uk/potting-shed-restaurant): The Potting Shed is everything a Cotswold country dining pub should be. It's relaxed and inviting, with a large leather-and-oak bar and a rustic agenda. This is English pub grub as it ought to be: sticky ribs, great bangers, slow-cooked pork belly and fish that's been caught on our shores. Dress up and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, or dress down and bring the kids.
  • Geweldig plek. Goede locatie.

There is an ensuite bathroom, with underfloor heating, which contains a walk-in shower, bath, wash basin and toilet; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and a wash basin, which are convenient for guests using the sofa bed. The private, fully enclosed garden backs onto an apple orchard and has lovely countryside views. There is a natural stone patio area with a table and four chairs, plus a charcoal barbecue, and guests also have access to a Summer House, which is useful for storing bicycles. At the side of the cottage is a private parking space, with room for two cars.
  • Heerlijk huisje.

    James2019-10-04T00:00:00Z

We zullen zeker terugkomen.

    Megan2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mooi! We zullen terugkomen xx

Nestle snugly in our peaceful light-filled cottage, tastefully decorated. There are two double bedrooms with large kitchen-diner and sitting room with open fire. Hidcote Boyce is a quintessentially Cotswold hamlet with convenient access to the area.
Hidcote Boyce is a very quiet hamlet set deep in the North Cotswolds. We are less than one mile from the famous National Trust Garden of Hidcote Manor (a lovely walk across two fields and you're there!); and two miles from the beautiful market town of Chipping Campden. There are some wonderful gastro pubs and restaurants very nearby and other recreations include famous Walking Ways, Royal Shakespeare Company theatres at Stratford upon Avon, (15mins away). Broadway, Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold and other markets towns and villages all within very easy access.
The village is very small and quiet. We are two miles from the the next village which has a grocery store, a post office, two pubs. It is walkable but probably advisable to have a car to be able to get around. We are able to pick up guests from the nearest train station (Honeybourne or Moreton in Marsh).

    Marianne2019-08-17T00:00:00Z

We voelden ons thuis.

Wine and dine in relaxed surroundings, with the warm ambience of open fires and a friendly service. From a delightful array of Mezze dishes, fresh fish and seafood with seasonal daily specials to the renowned “Marathona” Fillet Steaks.

    Sharon2019-10-18T00:00:00Z

Chipping Campden is quite simply one of the finest towns in the Cotswolds – well preserved and full of history but also full of life and bustle. Its elegant High Street is a delight, described by the historian, G.M. Trevelyan, as “the most beautiful village street now left in the island”: a broad gentle curve flanked on either side by an unbroken sweep of buildings covering a host of architectural styles with buildings dating back to the 14th century. In the centre of the High Street stands the iconic Market Hall, now in the care and ownership of the National Trust, and built in 1627 by Sir Baptist Hicks to provide shelter for traders selling perishable goods like cheese and butter or precious goods like silks. The paving stones have been worn away by hundreds of years of busy trade – and it’s all too easy to imagine the noise and bustle of traders long ago. Sir Baptist Hicks was a very wealthy silk merchant and vast and extravagant 17th century monuments to him and his family can be found in the town’s church. St James Church, the town’s most visible landmark, is one of the greates ‘wool’ churches in the Cotswolds, built with money from the flourishing medieval wool trade. It is famous for having one of the oldest altar tapestries and largest brasses in England. In 1613, the newly enriched Sir Baptist Hicks began work on a splendid new house in Chipping Campden with equally fashionable formal gardens. Unfortunately not long after its completion it was burnt to the ground by retreating Royalist soldiers during the Civil War and little remains - two pepperpot lodges framing the gateway beside the church, and two exceptional Jacobean banqueting houses, which can be rented through the Landmark Trust. The Court Barn Museum in the town tells the story of craft and design in the Cotswolds. C R Ashbee brought the Guild of Handicraft to the Old Silk Mill in the town in 1902. Unfortunately it did not prosper and in 1908 many artists had returned to London. However some stayed on, and the Hart family, descendants of George Hart, still have their workshops in the Old Silk Mill today. The town has a lively calendar of events, including the famous Cotswold Olimpicks, founded in the 17th century by Captain Robert Dover and still celebrated every year - a bizarre mix of sports, games and village festivities. Chipping Campden has no shortage of excellent places to eat, drink and stay in with some excellent Cotswold hotels, pubs and B&Bs, as well as plenty of holiday cottages to rent. Chipping Campden makes an excellent base for a holiday, with a number of notable gardens, including Hidcote and Kiftsgate, nearby and with wonderful walks in the area, including the 104 mile Cotswold Way, which starts in the town and follows the escarpment all the way to Bath.
  • Mooi huisje en tuin, een echte aanrader!

    Anna2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

(They even do take away fish and chips, cider and beers.) They serve food made from with at least 30% of the ingredients sourced from within 30 miles of Evesham. Best of all, it’s in walking distance of the Cottage. When you’re ready to go adventuring, Broadway, Broadway Tower and Chipping Camden are great for walkers, cyclist or for a short car trip. Some of the Cotswolds’ most popular villages, towns and attractions are within a 30-minute drive, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Snowshill, Batsford, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold. See the ‘Guidebook’ below for details of things to do and places to see. FULL DESCRIPTION GROUND FLOOR Entrance Hall Enter through the partially glazed front door straight into the light-filled Entrance Hall, which combines as a snug vestibule (great for sinking into the comfy armchairs while pulling off boots and coats) and practical room with cupboard for coats and wellies and a helpful umbrella stand. With its wooden floor, cream tongue-and-groove panelling and original beams, the Entrance Hall offers a warm welcome. Left into… The Living Room The Tiffany blue and cream theme continues into this lovely room, tastefully furnished with two sumptuous armchairs and a large double sofa. The most striking feature in here is the inglenook fireplace with original beam work. Within the fireplace is a wood-effect electric burner. The Living Room is all ready for a cosy night in, where you can enjoy the large, flat-screen digital TV with Blu Ray DVD player and a wealth of films. Alternatively, there’s a Wii console with games if you’re feeling more energetic. An Emma Bridgwater DAB radio with iPod docking station on the dresser is set up for playing your own playlist or a podcast. Back and left to... The Kitchen The beautiful and immaculate country-cottage kitchen has been carefully designed so that every appliance you’ll need for your stay is there, but cleverly hidden away to provide everything you need in a small space; the only obvious appliance is the gas hob with built in oven and extractor hood above. However, an integral slimline Hotpoint dishwasher and integral fridge can be found beside the cooker, whilst behind an ingenious bifold cupboard you’ll find the bread bin, Kenwood microwave and Dualit toaster and kettle. The wall units house everything you’ll need to cater for your group. There’s also an iron under the large ceramic sink and a high chair, picnic basket and vacuum in the under-stair cupboard. Left through to… Utility/Laundry Room A compact space where you’ll find the Hotpoint combined washing machine/dryer, a small library of books, re-chargeable tea light candles and storage cupboards housing cleaning materials and the boiler. Left through to… Family Bathroom As with the rest of the cottage, this room is impeccably and tastefully appointed with limestone floor and travertine wall tiles. Relax and soak away stresses in the large roll top bath that sits under the small private window overlooking the side path. Or enjoy a rainfall shower in the separate elevated double-shower enclosure. The bathroom is thoughtfully stocked with all the shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath you could need – so don’t weigh your luggage down with those heavy items. Return out to… Dining Conservatory Streaming with bright light (even on an overcast day), the heated Dining Conservatory is a great living space: by day it’s an extra living and eating space where you’ll sit to enjoy your breakfasts and lunches and access the patio garden and BBQ outside. By night, it can be transformed into an intimate dinning space with shimmering lighting. Return to…   UPSTAIRS Up the stairs from kitchen turning right into... Master double bedroom The oldest part of the cottage, the master double-bedroom has a cosy yet luxurious feel, tucked under the beams and eaves. From the iron-frame double bedstead you can enjoy private views through the traditional cottage windows. The cushioned window seat is a wonderful place to sit and while away some relaxation time. The bedroom has a lovely full-length cheval mirror, a deep clothes closet, a hairdryer and a digital flat-screen TV for bedtime viewing. Up the stairs from kitchen turning left into... Twin Bedroom A delightful room with two large, single beds, fluffy bed linen with bed throws, original beams and window overlooking a flat roof to the patio beyond. Ideal for children, this room would also suit two adults because of its L-shaped layout, providing individual privacy in a shared space. OUTSIDE The area to the rear of the cottage has been laid to patio and is reached either through the side gate and path or through the back door from the Dining Conservatory. In this clever us of space you’ll find a lovely, ivy-walled sun trap. The main patio area is up two stone steps where there’s a large ‘Outback’ gas BBQ, a rattan-style patio table with four matching chairs to one side and two rattan-style sofas with all-weather coffee table on the other. For a property in the heart of a village, this outside space is marvellously private being surrounded by high walls. (Note: one small window overlooks the area to one side but seems rarely unused.)
Bretforton is a small Cotswold village with a remarkable beating heart. The Community Shop and Café has become a social hub for the village, selling a wide range of essential items and local produce from 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm Saturday and 9am – 1pm Sunday. You can find the Community Shop in the same grounds at Bretforton Social Club, which can be accessed by car from New Street or on foot by Main Street. For a more substantial shop, there’s Warner’s Budgens, 6 miles away in Broadway (open 8am – 9pm Monday – Sunday). The Chadbury Farm Shop in Evesham is also an excellent little source of fresh local produce. Alternatively, for a big weekly shop or if you need a pharmacy, there’s Morrisons and Tesco Superstore in Evesham. If you don’t fancy cooking, The Fleece Inn is just across the village green. When asparagus is in season, it’s the only place to really enjoy this local speciality. The local faggots, home-made pies and fish and chips are favourites of ours. (They even do take away fish and chips, cider and beers!) When you’re ready to go adventuring, Broadway, Broadway Tower and Chipping Camden are great for seasoned walkers or a short car trip out. Whilst further afield, Bourton-on-the-Water is a firm favourite for children with its famous Model Village, Birdland and ice cream parlours. Should you have the misfortune of feeling unwell whilst you’re with us, there’s a doctor’s surgery in Evesham and hospitals nearby in Worcester and Cheltenham. The nearest dentist is Evesham Dental Health Team.

Nogmaals bedankt! Ben en Tash

Wine and dine in relaxed surroundings, with the warm ambience of open fires and a friendly service. From a delightful array of Mezze dishes, fresh fish and seafood with seasonal daily specials to the renowned “Marathona” Fillet Steaks.
