The workshop takes place in our beautiful Brooklyn art studio in the heart of Bushwick Brooklyn. We will meet at McCarren Park Track on the border of Greenpoint/Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This is mile 12 of the NYC Marathon. I will go over running safety in the city. Depending on traffic we may side track in a few places where I feel a safer detour is necessary. After a light stretch we’ll take the marathon route through north Brooklyn and trendy Greenpoint, stopping at the 13.1 mark and the top of the Pulaski Bridge. We'll admire the view of Manhattan while taking a brief rest. Onward into Queens along the beautiful Long Island City waterfront, past the famous Pepsi Cola sign, then along Vernon Blvd to a nice and shady bike/pedestrian path leading to the 59th St. Bridge (mile 15 of the marathon course). The mile long bridge is a steady incline for 2/3 of the span. We will rest at the top so I can explain where we are in the city and in the marathon. We then come off the bridge onto 60th St (mile 16) and head west toward Central Park. We will pick up the marathon route again at Central Park South (mile 25.2) and run the last mile to the marathon finish line. The actual line is only up during the marathon but you can imagine the excitement!

We will learn the art of "Hanging Wax Vimanas" which are hand-made miniature wax sculptures infused with crayon, oil pastel and aromatic oils which are then arranged in a vertical array using copper wire and raw materials such as stone, shell, clay, wood, etc. These sculptures are placed under the doorways, entrances or installed inside the house at some special place such as garden, greenhouse, entrance/exit or prayer/meditation area. The vimanas help regulate the positive vibration in living place by bringing beauty to the eye, soothing aroma, with overall pleasantness with its presence. Each vimana is hand-made using a heat-gun, non-drip candles, dyed candles, and a variety of organic materials while fusing a unique color combination, each to its own. Wax has three physical states, solid, liquid and plasma. Concave objects are used as a mold providing a basic structural base. Timing is the essence when designing the vimana, as the wax transforms from hot liquid wax to the in-between plasma state the colored materials are added freezing and merging the patterns into wax sculpture. Art of Tabla is a music school located in Bushwick dedicated to teaching and performing the Tabla and Indian Percussion. Tabla is considered to be one of the most expressive finger percussion instruments in the world. Its tonal qualities range from deep pulsating bass waves to an array of subtle micro-tones and melodic phrases unlike any other percussion instrument. Its water-like tones and low frequency bass lines give the tabla a specific characteristic, a distinct sound; almost like a micro-percussion orchestra. Learning tabla can take a great deal of time, sensitivity and patience. Tabla is to be more of a melodic percussion instrument because it requires an understanding of pitch, melody and verbal phrasing. Siddhartha will perform the tabla and explain the genesis of tabla, then you will be able to try for yourself!

After gaining an understanding about your personal intentions, (a brief consultation about tarot), I'll provide course outline based around basic foundations and pivot forward from your current understanding. First we will set an intention for our time, and then we'll work our way through the cards and learn systems on how to understand and work with the cards for your own personal benefit.
