Casa Mott is a wonderful family holiday villa located in a peaceful residential area on the edge of Tavira town. Recently remodelled with an elegant yet welcoming décor, the interior is bright and alluring offering a comfortable home from home, whilst a stunning selection of outdoor amenities provides essential ingredients to embrace and enjoy outside living. A 20-minute walk leads you to restaurants, traditional shops and the boat to the golden sands and vibrant waters of Tavira Beach Island.

This stunning villa is ideal to enjoy a family holiday, close to a wonderful and charismatic town with history, charm and a stunning beach island.

OUTSIDE - The property is securely gated with a colorful tree and floral lined perimeter, sprinkled with rose bushes, green shrubs and fruit trees, making this a perfect haven of peace and tranquility, despite its proximity to civilisation! From the gated entrance you are immediately welcomed by a sparking blue swimming pool decorated with traditional-tiled terraces, sunbeds and relaxing chairs creating the perfect sunworshippers paradise! A traditional BBQ and dining table also provide an excellent spot for “al-fresco” poolside dining. Sneak around the corner and you will find an enchanting wooden seating area nestled into the corner of the lounge doors, offering welcome shade and a wonderful area for more peaceful moments of reflection or reading.

GROUND LEVEL - Step into the lounge and you will be delighted by the warmth of the recent renovations, with rich colours and furnishings that provide an air of elegance and regality. Comfy chairs, a writing desk and large oval table feature in a spacious, open room and make for a pleasant sitting or dining experience. Tucked neatly away at the front of the house is the newly fitted kitchen, which despite its size, is deceptively well equipped with top-end appliances from the “Smeg” range. A plentiful supply of crockery and kitchenware ensure that home catering is a joy. From here a tiled hallway leads to 2 bedrooms including the master bedroom suite with an opulent adjoining bathroom, and a second bedroom across the hall with two single beds.

FIRST FLOOR - At the top of the internal staircase, the 3rd bedroom (twin) is complemented by a modern shower room with a secret door revealing a stunning terrace with comfy sofas, where you can simply relax and soak up the panoramic views stretching out across the town and rooftops, and eventually out to the ocean, which is bright blue and sparking on a sunny day. Ideal also for evening cocktails, stargazing and enjoying with friends.

This is a private accommodation and guests will be able to access all advertised areas and use all advertised facilities. There are several interior steps between rooms and a staircase to the first floor. Parking can be on street, or within the gated grounds.

The villa is situated in "Quinta da Barra", a more traditionally themed Portuguese residential area. It popularity is borne from the peaceful ambience and proximity to Tavira Centre. There are no amenities in the immediate vicinity, but within 10 minutes walk, you are have a gorgeous bakery and cafe, and a further 5 minutes, you are in the town centre.

The delightful attractions of Tavira are reached within a 15 minute walk, with colourful cobbled streets, the famed Roman bridge over the meandering Rio Gilão, and an intriguing historical quarter replete with handsome 17th century merchants’ mansions, fine churches and convents of architectural note all bidding for your attention. Castle ramparts have been faithfully restored housing beautiful gardens of indigenous and exotic varieties, while pretty squares edged with café terraces offer the perfect pre-text for lazy afternoons while watching the World pass by.

Cuisine: An abundance of excellent eateries abound to suit all tastes and pockets, from the traditional to the more avant-garde. Fish and seafood are king here, freshly caught and served grilled, while a plethora of contemporary tapas bars have brought an edge and finesse to the local offering. Plentiful local cafés and gelaterias offer pleasing resting points while out exploring, and keen chefs will enjoy the daily market for freshly caught fish, seafood, meats and produce, all sourced locally and sold over a cacophony of local colour and commotion within the vast market place.

Beaches: Known for its outstanding coastline, the Algarve offers an unparalleled richness of golden beaches. Voted one of the best beaches in Portugal, Tavira island, conveniently reached from the centre of the town via short ferry crossing, is a 10km long paradise of soft golden sands, lapped by the clean, clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby Barril beach, once the centre of a thriving tuna fishing community can be reached on foot via Tavira island, or via a fun miniature train departing from the nearby pretty fishing village of Santa Luzia, famed for being the ‘Octopus Capital’ of the Algarve. Heading east, vibrant Cabanas offers a further choice of excellent restaurants, bars and cafés and a superb beach of dune backed sands.

Nature: Hugging the coastline from Faro in the west through Tavira and then onto to Manta Rota in the east, The Ria Formosa Natural Park forms an expansive barrier against the Atlantic Ocean. Vast wetlands, sheltered lagoons, deserted islands and stunning beaches provide a perfect habitat for migratory birdlife and fragile marine ecosystems. Criss-crossed with trails and unmade paths, this is an ideal natural playground for cycling, walking and birdwatching.

Activities: The various local beaches offer excellent facilities for windsurfing, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding and jet-ski, while kayaking along the local Rio Gilão is a must to enjoy the undulating landscape of the Asseca valley, heading inland through soft pastures and orchards rich in sweet Algarve citrus fruits. World renowned for golf, the Algarve offers a plentiful supply of World class golf courses and the nearby courses of Benamor, Quinta da Ria & Cima, Monte Rei and Castro Marim cater for all levels and pockets

When booking private accommodation, we like to give you privacy during your stay. However, Smartavillas fully trained personnel are available 24 hours per day should you need assistance of any kind. We are only a phone call away. As this property has a private pool, please remember that access will be required for maintenance/ upkeep.

Smartavillas has a fantastic holiday guide packed with lots of information including points of local interest, activities, and restaurant recommendations. For your convenience, we will send an electronic copy before you arrive and also provide a QR code in the villa.

As properties are rented on a self-catering arrangement, a daily maid and interim property cleaning service/linen change are not included in the price, but if required, can be provided for an additional charge. Further details available on request.

The house will be well presented for your arrival, and departure cleaning is included in the rental value. However, we do ask for a respectful co-operation with the removal of rubbish, and that BBQ facilities are cleaned of food and debris before you leave. Charges will be incurred if it is deemed that the property is left in an unacceptable condition.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! - and on departure day, check out time is requested at 10.00h. We will contact you towards the end of your stay to confirm this. We may be able to offer a later departure time only if there are no guests arriving on the same day. Unfortunately, however, this is unlikely in the summer months due to high volumes of guests.
